We really do have too many summer clothes left, which is both good - people have been very generous and bad - we have no where to put them. Please help us out and score an absolute bargain or three.

Fact - The Treasure Trove @ Gingin is an op shop; part of the ‘virtuous’ circle helping towards the goal of recycling, reusing, repurposing and giving back to the community.

Like all op shops the Trove relies on donations, which it sells, although a fair amount of work can go between receiving and selling. It’s a great system but it only works if the donations received can in fact be sold.

Everything that can’t be sold is an expense – both in time and money. The skip waste bin costs over $90 a time to have emptied. Larger rubbish – the type often left outside shop hours, does not walk itself to the tip!

95% of people giving donations get this but the 5% who don’t are why we have security cameras – that work!

We have videos of people stealing; a person in a hoodie stole donations, ditto a young woman in a distinctively decaled ute and now of two people dumping unsalable furniture.

The dumping happened last Saturday evening, at 9.10pm, when it was fully dark; 2 people, nice red twin cab ute & a small trailer. They left 3 old chairs one completely broken and two cream faux leather settees that are very scratched and dirty so very, very, well past their use by date. Incidentally she also took a bag of BBQ heat beads.

Unfortunately, the picture quality is not quite good enough for an id but if you recognise them feel free to ‘dob in a dumper’ or to quietly suggest that they take their rubbish to the tip.

FOR SALE IN THE SHOP - $500
E Traveller EVO Rollator electric wheelchair. Hybrid walker/electric wheelchair/ assisted wheelchair. It has a joystick controller for operation while seated, as well as a rear attendant controller when assisted. New they cost between $1500 and $2000.
This wheelchair is barely ‘run in’ because the user did not get on with the joystick control.
It runs on a lithium battery, which when fully charged, claims to have a range of approx. 20kms.
It has been electrically tested; the battery fully charged and has a comprehensive user guide.

Really 😨. Two volunteers have had to sort through & clear up this mess; most of it has gone to the tip.
Sadly the dumped picture does say 'In Loving Memory' 😢

Christmas Break.
The shop will be closed from midday Saturday 20th December and re-open at 9am Monday 19th January 2026.
No donations will be taken during the closed period.
Anything left outside the shop fence will be reported as fly tipping.

Saturday - furniture give away!
We really, really need the space. So on Saturday some pieces are being put out into the carpark - they will be FREE. Just pick your item and take it away before it goes to the tip.

We have too much women's clothing, yes really 🥲. We need to/must sell some to clear space for the Christmas stock 🎁❤️so from Monday 10th November ALL our beautiful dresses, smart pants, flowing shirts, cool shorts and colourful, flattering tops will be HALF of the marked price.
