The name of the Society shall be the International Geology & Archeology Incorporated, hereinafter called the Society.
2. Objects:
The objects of the Society shall be:
(a) To encourage the advancement of geosciences and the pursuit of archaeological sciences. (b) To serve as a means of facilitating communication and cooperation among members, and with other bodies. (c) To investigate and report
on matters of general interest to international geoscientists and archeologists. (d) To serve as a channel for the expression of the views of International geoscientists and archeologists. (e) To hold and sponsor conferences and other scientific meetings and meetings of Subcommittees, local Branches and Special Interest Groups. (f) To encourage and give recognition to high standards of geoscientific and archaeological research. (g) To seek the preservation of important geoscientific and archeological sites, reserves and scientific protective field stations. (h) To encourage the highest standards of professional competence and ethical conduct in the practice of the geological and archeological sciences globally.
