A handmade Christmas by Daisie Mae in Surat, QLD.

Meg was an accountant before she was taught to sew one day by a friend at the local pub. There was coffee next door to the pub, apparently, so all bases were covered as Meg and her talented friend set out to make a dress Meg had seen online.

That was the beginning of a love affair with sewing and creating things and aren’t we quite glad about that?!

Meg has 3 boys, a grain farming husband and a beautiful bush business. She reckons she dances with joy each time she receives an order.

Shall we make Meg dance a little then? 💃🎄

Yesterday we travelled a few hundred kms to Feathers Cafe for coffee.

Part 1: A day in Coonabarabran.
Will I get to part 2?
Unclear.

In case I never get to posting the rest, we went from coffee and cake to browsing the shops to lunch (pizza and gelato) and a grocery shop. And yes, Crazy Sam’s got us good.

Like most days with girlfriends, the agenda mattered less than the time to finish sentences and ask more questions. We might never have moved from the couches at Jess’s coffee shop and the 4 hours in the car would have been worth it.

Coonabarabran is a bloody great excuse to make some memories.

"I think we might be the problem. Us parents," writes Grace Brennan, who says it's time to let go of "high-performance parenting".

"We’ve become like the bus monitors of my childhood, the ones who took their job far too seriously. Charged with telling us which bus had arrived at the gate in a loud, officious voice — despite us being able to see for ourselves. They were in command and they needed us to know it.
