BOOK WEEK AT GYS 📚

Our GYS crew got into the spirit of Book Week yesterday with some great costumes on display and plenty of creativity.

From favourite characters to recognisable faces, we loved seeing everyone get involved and bringing their favourite books to life.

GILGANDRA YOUTH SERVICE – IMPORTANT REMINDER FOR PARENTS & CARERS 📢

A quick reminder for families about GYS Breakfast Club and After School Drop-In, available Monday–Friday during the school term.

🥞 Breakfast Club
From 7.30am, with a pick-up service available. Young people are supported by GYS staff and will walk safely to school with staff.

🎒 After School Drop-In
Available after school until 5.00pm.
Please ensure children are collected by 5.00pm, as GYS staff cannot supervise children after this time. If a child is not collected, they will need to walk home or attend their parent/carer’s workplace, where appropriate.

Children attending GYS should also bring a hat, drink bottle and jumper, particularly during cooler weather.

Thank you to parents and carers for helping GYS keep our young people safe and supported

GYS reminds families of some upcoming temporary changes to the Bus Run service.

There will be no Bus Runs on the dates shown below.

Breakfast Club and Walk to School will operate as usual on these dates.

GYS wishes to remind families of some upcoming temporary service changes during August and September.

🚫 No Breakfast Club or Bus Run:
Friday, 14 August

🚌 No Bus Run:
• Wednesday, 12 August
• Thursday–Friday, 20–21 August
• Thursday–Friday, 27–28 August
• Thursday–Friday, 10–11 September

On the Bus Run-only dates, Breakfast Club and Walk to School will operate as usual.

Gilgandra Youth Services wishes to remind families of the following temporary Bus Run changes during August and September.

Breakfast Club and Walk to School will continue to operate as usual on all of the below dates.

• Wednesday, 12 August

• Thursday–Friday, 20–21 August
• Thursday–Friday, 27–28 August
• Thursday–Friday, 10–11 September

GILGANDRA YOUTH SERVICES – TEMPORARY SERVICE CHANGES 🚌

Gilgandra Youth Services advises that temporary changes will occur during August and September to Breakfast Club, the Bus Run and After School Drop-In while staff and the GYS Bus take short breaks.

Service changes include:
• Friday, 31 July (tomorrow): After School Drop-In closes early at 4:30pm.
• Monday, 3 August & Friday, 14 August: No Breakfast Club or Bus Run.
• Tuesday, 11 August: No Bus Run (Breakfast Club and Walk to School will operate as usual).
• Thursday–Friday, 20–21 August, 27–28 August & 10–11 September: No Bus Run (Breakfast Club and Walk to School will operate as usual).

All services will resume as normal following each scheduled change.

📢 GILGANDRA YOUTH SERVICES OPENING HOURS – MONDAY 20 JULY

Please note that Gilgandra Youth Services will only be open from 3.00pm on Monday, 20 July 2026.

We look forward to welcoming everyone for the afternoon session from 3.00pm.

GYS will resume as normal from Tuesday, 21 July.
