2025 end of year Presentation.
Get ready, folks, the night of nights is here.
A celebration of big fish, small fish, imaginary fish, and the excuses that hold this club together.

On the 14th of March we celebrate the brave, the bold, and the downright delusional, the anglers of the Gerringong Hotel Fishing Club.
A group known for:
- Casting like champions
- Telling stories like politicians
- And measuring fish with a ruler that somehow gets longer every year (Werri Dave, I am talking to you)

Gerringong Surf Club, 5pm.
Dinner provider and BYO drinks!!!!!!!!!!

Come for the trophies, stay for the stories, and watch Randall pretend he’s running the Oscars.

February Report - Another great turnout over the weekend with plenty of people in attendance with competion across all the divisions.

Deep Sea: Nick B took the win with 787.5pts with a black marlin with Rory B runner up with 27.2pts.

Estuary: Mens was taken out by Jason S with 26pts with Dave J just behind on 24.8pts. Ladies was taken out by Tricia with 3.9pts. Juniors was taken out by Eddie S with 10pts and Sub Juniors was won by Sam K with 7.3pts

Beach & Rock: Mens New weighmaster Troy took out the win with 72.3pts with Club Pres Randall runner up with 4.3pts. Sub Juniors was taken out by Lachy J with 14.6pts closely followed up by Tai M with 11.3pts.

Total points: With Nicks black marlin this comp and the jewfish last month hes put himself in a comanding position in the total points comp, its going to take some solid consistency across the year to get back on terms with him or 1 bumper comp so dont give up on this one yet.

Fish of the Month: there was a few fish measured this comp for FOTM, still plenty of time left in the month to knock these off.
Deep Sea: Marlin (short length) - Nick B 203cm
Beach & Rock: Mullet - Randall 34cm
Estuary: Flathead - Robbie 51cm

Here’s the mullet to beat for the month. You need one over 34cm to beat Randall!

The club would like to notify its members of a change to rules for Biggest of Species & Fish of the Month categories. On Tuesday 04/06/24 at the meeting it was unanimously voted to chage the way this is recorded from weight to length from this point forward, this is to allow for catch and release fishers to participate in our club and moves in line with a lot of other clubs, there will be no changes to our monthly comps they will continue as per usual.

We have also included a few new species to the list will share a new complete list soon.

Rules around the new rules are as follows:
- Video taken from directly above going from head to tail showing head touching end and length at tail on a brag matt, this is to show clear length.
- Name & Date to be stated in video
- Video to be uploaded to Whatsapp group for recording, wont be accepted any other way

Heres a video of our secretary showing how its done with a flathead caught by his son

Looking forward to seeing all the videos of catches
