Marina parkrun event #335 – 10 October 2026

88 finishers, 8 volunteers and plenty of Saturday-morning silliness!

Another Marina parkrun is in the books, with a cheerful crowd turning up to run, walk, jog, shuffle, chat, cheer and generally pretend that getting out of bed early on a Saturday was a sensible decision.

There were smiles, encouragement, a few determined faces and probably at least one person wondering why the finish line hadn’t moved closer yet. But everyone made it around, and that’s the important bit!

👏 Huge thanks to our fantastic volunteers: Tracey Clinton, Ian Palmer, Jikki Vanamstel, Lesleigh Stewart, Fraser Harris, Graeme Stewart, Daniel Straw and Sue Palmer. You kept everything ticking along beautifully, pointed people in the right direction and helped make the morning run smoother than most of us did!

🎃 Halloween is coming!

Our special Halloween event is only two weeks away, so it’s time to start planning your spookiest, silliest or most spectacular costume. Capes, cobwebs, witches, monsters and anything else suitably spooky are all encouraged. Just make sure you can still see where you’re going!

Thanks to everyone who ran, walked, volunteered, cheered or joined us for the community spirit. Marina parkrun is always better with you there.

MARINA PARKRUN #334 — Saturday October 3rd, 2026

104 finishers. 8 brilliant volunteers. One beautiful morning. ☀️

Marina was showing off today — and everyone was welcome to enjoy it!

Runners, joggers, walkers, shufflers, socialisers and those using the highly sophisticated “I’ll just see how I feel” strategy all made their way around. 😂

There were PBs, first-timers, milestones and plenty of Saturday morning smiles.

And yes, the ever-popular “I’m only doing one lap” option remains available. We don’t judge.

Because you don’t need to be fast to enjoy parkrun.

You don’t even need to run. Walk the whole way, jog a bit, chat, encourage someone else or arrive wondering what you’ve signed up for — then leave thinking, “Actually, that wasn’t too bad!” 😂

Whether you’re chasing a PB, chasing a friend or simply chasing coffee afterwards, you’re part of the same parkrun family. ☕

A huge THANK YOU to today’s volunteers — Tracey, Ian, Jikki, Lesleigh, Fraser, Graeme, Daniel and Sue. 👏

Without volunteers, we’d have 104 people standing around at 8am wondering what they’re supposed to do. 😂

And thank you to everyone who ran, walked, jogged, shuffled, encouraged, chatted, laughed and helped make our Parkrun such a great morning. ❤️

😜 You don’t even have to pretend you’re enjoying the (ever so slight) elevation changes.
