Over the coming days you'll see us sharing different examples of the work happening at George Town Neighbourhood House.
Why? Because sometimes it's easy to forget just how many different ways George Town Neighbourhood House is there when people need support.
Today, we're highlighting the support people receive when life gets complicated.
๐๐๐ฏ๐ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ needed help applying for a Disability Support Pension, Carer Payment, JobSeeker, Age Pension, or another government payment?
๐๐๐ฏ๐ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ supported a parent or loved one moving into aged care and felt overwhelmed by the forms, assessments, and income and assets paperwork?
๐๐๐ฏ๐ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ needed help accessing housing, mental health, disability, or other community support services?
๐๐๐ฏ๐ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ needed someone to explain a process, make referrals, complete paperwork, or simply help you work out your next step?
These are the kinds of things our Community Connector, Kristy, helps people with every day.
If you've received support like this from Kristy or another member of the George Town Neighbourhood House team, we'd love you to take 10 minutes to complete the Neighbourhood House survey.
George Town Neighbourhood House is often one of the first places people turn when they need support, have an idea, see a gap in services, or want something positive for the community. Our community trusts us to respond when needs arise.
But responding to community needs requires resources.
Your feedback helps demonstrate the value of the services, programs and support provided through George Town Neighbourhood House, and why continued investment is needed to ensure we can keep responding to our community effectively.

*UPDATE: Survey closing date extended until 22 June*
Last November, the State Government announced an independent Needs Analysis of the Neighbourhood House Network, recognising increasing demand on Houses and the need for long-term sustainability.
Neighbourhood Houses are a vital part of Tasmania's broader service system. Through their community development approach, they provide welcoming, trusted and accessible places where people can connect, find support, build skills and strengthen their communities.
Houses are increasingly responding to growing and complex needs, and many are stretched. This survey is part of the statewide Needs Analysis, and your input will help shape whatโs needed to support communities into the future.
The survey is open to everyone - whether you have volunteered, worked, or accessed a Neighbourhood House, or work for an organisation that partners with Houses, all responses are vital. Even if you have never been to a Neighbourhood House but care about the future of Tasmanian communities, this survey is for you.
The survey closes on 22 June (previously 15 June). Please share with your networks, and thanks for your support!
