LLV TRAINING

We’ve got LLV training happening at the House this week, with another great opportunity to learn, build skills and confidence.

THE GREAT BOOK GIVEAWAY

Our books will be out Tuesday and ready for new homes. Come in, have a browse and take home some new reads, completely FREE

LAWYER VISIT

Our visiting lawyer will be at the House this Monday, providing an opportunity to access legal information and advice right here in George Town.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KERRY

Today we’re giving a big birthday shout-out to our wonderful Kerry, the friendly face at reception, our NILS extraordinaire, and quite frankly, one of our general guns who keeps the Hood ticking along.

Whether she’s answering phones, helping someone navigate NILS, sorting out a problem, pointing someone in the right direction or tackling one of the approximately 427 random things that land at reception each day, Kerry gets it done.

She’s an important part of our Hood crew and we hope today she gets a chance to put her feet up, eat some cake and let someone else sort it out for once.

Please join us in wishing Kerry a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

FREE LEGAL LITERACY VOLUNTEER TRAINING – GEORGE TOWN

Would you like to build some new skills while helping people in our community better understand legal information and connect with the right support?

The Launceston Community Legal Centre, together with Legal Literacy Volunteers, is bringing FREE volunteer training to George Town.

Training starts 8 September 2026 for 4 Tuesdays (lunch provided)

You don’t need any legal experience, just curiosity, kindness and a willingness to help. 💙

Becoming a Legal Literacy Volunteer is a great opportunity to:
✨ Learn practical new skills
🤝 Meet people and make connections
💡 Help others in our community
🙌 Be part of something useful and meaningful

Bad Art is back

No talent? PERFECT. 😂 Come and create something wonderfully questionable with us. All materials are supplied, but bookings are essential as spaces are limited.

Scams Awareness Information Session

Scammers are getting smarter, so it pays to know what to look out for. Come along to this FREE session with Consumer, Building and Occupational Services and learn how to recognise scams, protect yourself and know what to do if you’ve been targeted.

Tech Program – Learning to Use Social Media
