Last night, our Melbourne Fashion Week runway came to life šŸŽ‰

Talented young designer, and former BSL volunteer, Niamh Rae chatted to Brett McLeod on Nine News ahead of last night's Cult Status runway, sharing how she turns donated wool blankets found in hard rubbish into stunning felted looks as a response to fast fashion.

Niamh worked on the BSL x Hunter Gatherer collection last year and this year is part of The Swatch student runway on Friday night. We’re so proud of Niamh and everyone who helped bring BSL x Hunter Gatherer's Re-imagined Excess to the runway last night. Congratulations!

Meet Rowan, one of BSL's Board Directors and committee members. As a trained Lawyer, and having worked as Executive Director at Victorian Legal Aid, Rowan brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her volunteer role at BSL. She is a strong advocate for justice and equality, and her leadership reflects her passion for creating lasting change for marginalised communities.

2026 is the UN International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development, and Rowan's work shows us the power of what volunteering can achieve.
