Remembering Aldo Siketa

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Aldo Siketa.

Aldo holds a very special place in the history of HKUD “LADO” Geelong. In 1972, Aldo and his wife Anica were proudly involved in the establishment, growth and development of the group, helping to build an organisation that has played such an important role in sharing Croatia’s rich cultural heritage through music, song and dance.

Aldo’s contribution and love for Croatian culture have left a lasting legacy.

Perhaps the most beautiful testament to his legacy is seeing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren continuing to perform, keeping the traditions, music and dances alive for generations to come.

Our deepest condolences to Aldo’s family, friends and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

May he rest peacefully, and may his legacy continue to inspire generations to come.

Počivao u miru 🙏

We once again want to thank the Central State Office for Croats Outside the Republic of Croatia for their generous financial support, which funded our music program.

Their support allows our talented musicians to continue preserving and sharing the beauty of Croatian culture, tradition, and music for future generations. We are incredibly proud of the dedication, hard work, and passion shown by all of our performers and orchestra members.

Još jednom želimo zahvaliti Središnjem državnom uredu za Hrvate izvan Republike Hrvatske na njihovoj velikodušnoj financijskoj potpori kojom je financiran naš glazbeni program.

Njihova potpora omogućuje našim talentiranim glazbenicima da nastave čuvati i dijeliti ljepotu hrvatske kulture, tradicije i glazbe za buduće generacije. Neizmjerno smo ponosni na predanost, trud i ljubav koju pokazuju svi naši izvođači i članovi orkestra.

What a wonderful evening at this year’s Victorian Croatian Children’s Folklore Festival ❤️🇭🇷

A huge congratulations to all of the children who performed throughout the night. Your hard work, energy and enthusiasm on stage made us all incredibly proud. From dancing and singing to music and smiles, every group showcased the beauty of Croatian culture so beautifully.

Thank you to our fellow folklore groups — Hrvatski Folklorni Ansambl Zvonimir F.A Hrvatska Zora, Melbourne Folklorna Grupa Mladi Hrvati - Clifton Hill — for joining us and helping make the evening so special. It was wonderful to see our Victorian Croatian community come together once again through friendship, music and tradition.

A special thank you to Major Minor for keeping the celebrations going and creating such a fun atmosphere for everyone to enjoy throughout the night.

Thank you to Your Private Chef Catering Melbourne for their amazing catering, the food was delicious! We highly recommend them for your next event!

Most importantly, nights like these remind us why folklore is so important — our children are proudly keeping Croatian traditions, songs and dances alive for future generations.

Thank you to all who attended, supported and celebrated with us ❤️
