KIDS HELPING KIDS 👧🏽🧒🏼
Did you know we run facilitated food box packing sessions in schools?
Our Kids Helping Kids program brings food security education direct to school. Here’s how it works: your school holds a food drive, and then we come along and facilitate a hands-on packing session with the students.
We sit down with the kids and talk about food security in a way that makes sense to them. We ask what they love to eat over the school holidays, for breakfast, lunch or snacks. And we help them understand that not every kid gets the same opportunities when it comes to food. For some families, the holidays mean extra pressure and extra hunger for kids.
Then we get packing.
The kids get to see the full journey of their donation, maybe from the supermarket shelf, into the trolley, through the school gate, and into one of our food boxes packed by their own hands, ready to go home with a family who needs it.
Our goal isn’t just to fill as many boxes as possible. It’s to have quality conversations with the kids about food security and why helping people matters. We want this generation of kids to grow up knowing that community care starts young and that they have the power to make a real difference for someone their own age.
