A very special event is coming to Bluebird House these school holidays 🎵🎶🎼

Immerse your child in the wonder of creating a song alongside Nadine Joy, then transform their musical ideas into a unique artwork with artist Natalie Iacono.

This one-of-a-kind creative experience combines storytelling, songwriting, music, and visual art, giving young creatives the opportunity to express themselves across multiple art forms while collaborating, imagining, and creating together.

Where all the hard work happens... Thanks to the generous support of City of Greater Geelong Youth Services, Ensemble NORTH have this amazing new rehearsal venue at The Nest Youth Hub in Geelong's CBD. Choristers get to relax and socialise before rehearsal; a crucial factor in creating a champion team (rather than a team of champions).

From miniature animals and sweet treats to quirky characters and imaginative treasures, Polymer Clay Minis is all about bringing big ideas to life in tiny form.

In early years classrooms around Geelong, the sound of children singing is an everyday delight.

Through SingingLinks, classroom teachers are supported to bring structured, developmental singing into their daily routines. This sequential program helps children build essential music skills, including singing tunefully, keeping a steady beat and developing expressive voices.

Alongside musical growth, children are strengthening co-operative behaviours, expanding vocabulary, and building aural memory. These foundations play a meaningful role in their broader learning, supporting literacy, language development, attention, and confidence in the classroom.

Just as importantly, singing together brings connection and joy into the school day. It creates moments of shared energy, creativity, and wellbeing that children carry with them far beyond the music session.

Rainy days mean no outdoor breaks to get the wriggles out but NORTH Children's Choir know how to get moving the musical way 🎶

Building cubbies in nature means heavy lifting, teamwork, trial and error, and a whole lot of imagination.

This First Steps in Nature activity began with one child’s idea. With a little support from an adult, sticks and branches were carried, dragged, and lifted to create a cubby-style hideaway. As more children joined in, their ideas grew, and teamwork unfolded naturally. Some were climbing, others painting, adjusting, testing, and rebuilding. Over several weeks, the structure evolved, with rope, large pegs, and a blanket added so the children could keep exploring and extending their building play.

Beyond the joy of play, experiences like this are building strong foundations for growing brains and bodies. Children are developing gross motor strength, coordination, balance, and spatial awareness through movement and physical effort. They are strengthening problem-solving skills, creativity, and persistence through trial and error. Just as importantly, they are building social connection, communication, and confidence as they negotiate ideas and work together.

These kinds of rich, open-ended experiences give children the best start in life, supporting not only physical development but also emotional wellbeing, curiosity, and lifelong learning.
