To keep himself physiologically balanced, Sensei Gerard can’t stress enough how valuable any form of martial arts is in one’s own daily life and practices🥋

We are so blessed in the Greater Geelong Region to have an array of martial arts clubs, so and try out any form of martial arts near you!💪

Mondays (Brown & Black Belt Training - By Invitation Only) *Fortnightly

Tuesdays (General Class Training - 6pm to 7pm)

Wednesdays (Senior Class Training - 6:30pm to 7:30pm)

Thursdays (Junior Class Training - 5:30pm to 6:30pm)

Congratulations to Sensei Gerard Felipe 3rd Dan who has been unexpectedly shortlisted as a Finalist in the inaugural Future Geelong Leadership Awards for Under 25!✨

Sensei Gerard has tirelessly contributed to the Greater Geelong Region for the past 3 years since moving from Frankston to Highton, including introducing traditional Shotokan Karate classes locally, facilitating successful internship placements for local international students as part of his employment at the Education Centre of Australia (ECA) in Geelong, engaging with local business and participating regularly in local church life activities.

He is a public educated Catholic, an older brother and a visionary-migrant leader with high hopes for the City of Greater Geelong and Regional Victoria!🇦🇺

We wish him the very best of luck at the Awards Evening to be held in early September!👏

Filipino Australian Gerard Felipe of Geelong, Victoria is both proud and stunned to be among the few short-listed finalists with an ethnic/culturally diverse background for the inaugural Future Geelong Leadership Awards in the Under 25 Category.

JKA Geelong regrets the sudden passing of JKA’s International Chief Instructor, Ueki Masaaki Shuseki Shihan 10th Dan. We offer our deepest condolences to the bereaved family and share in the sadness of all JKA members worldwide. R.I.P🙏

Japan Karate Association of Geelong (JKA Geelong) is excited for the upcoming Australian Karate Federation (AKF) National Karate Championships to be hosted by Karate Victoria (KV) in the City of Greater Geelong on Friday August 2 to Sunday August 4 2024 at the Geelong Arena!👊

As a former athlete and national champion in numerous AKF and KV tournaments from 2012 to 2016, Sensei Gerard Felipe 3rd Dan is pleased to welcome these championships in the Greater Geelong region to celebrate Karate Australia’s 50 Year Anniversary✨

Sensei Gerard was mentored by Karate Victoria’s former Vice Head Kata Coach, the legendary Shihan John Haitidis 8th Dan and started his karate journey with Karate Victoria’s former Head Kumite Coach, the legendary Shihan Bruce Hyland 8th Dan before moving under the tutelage of Japan Karate Association’s former Australian National Chief Instructor, the legendary Shihan Takaatsu Nishimura 7th Dan🇯🇵🇦🇺

We can’t wait to see the amazing display of athletes from the other states across Australia and welcoming them into the region as a boost for tourism, sports and local business!

JKA Geelong held an outdoor karate session for the final class of 2023! We are so proud of all our students’ hard work throughout the year✨

Regular training resumes on Tuesday January 16 2024 at the Wandana Heights Tennis Club (WHTC) Hall and Wednesday January 17 2024 at Christian College Geelong (CCG) Sports Hall from 6pm to 7pm.
