Here’s our weekly $$$ update. Firstly, thank you to everyone who’s made a tax deductible donation so far. Whatever you have given, from $10 to $5000, it has all been gratefully received. Plus, whatever you have given will be doubled by our anonymous donor. If you’ve been thinking about donating, but haven’t done so yet, please make today the day! If you can’t afford to donate at all, then help us by liking and sharing our posts. Together, we can bring not-for-profit community-based funerals to Geelong.

Day 10 of October Fundraiser. Today we give thanks to the Tenders who have walked the path before us. Tender Funerals Tender Funerals Mid North Coast Tender Funerals Canberra Region These are the operational sites in Australia that have proven time and time again that not-for-profit funerals provide an essential service in our communities. We learn from their learnings at our Network meetings. They are like our wise elders. Because of them we already know how we should set up our office and lay out our mortuary and what’s the best van to buy for transportation. Because of them, so much of the work is already done. The way is already known. We just need the money to make it happen. Remember, every $ donated in October will be matched by our anonymous donor. So please give whatever you can to help Geelong become operational so we can start serving our community as soon as possible ❤️❤️❤️ Insta link in bio. Facey link in comments.

One of the many wonderful things about Tender Funerals is our network. Right across Australia, small bands of volunteers are working tirelessly to bring not-for-profit funerals to their community. We meet online once every two months to share information and swap anecdotes and simply cheer each other on. It’s a beautiful thing. So support your local Tender today. Day 8 of October Fundraiser. No pleas for money today. No cares about likes and shares and audience engagement. Just a moment of rest and contemplation and gratitude for how far we’ve come and how much further we need to go. ❤️ ❤️

A big part of Tender Funerals Geelong’s journey over the last four years has been to find the perfect premises. Since we are having a mortuary on-site, we had to find a building that was Industrial Zone One. As you can imagine, none of the properties we looked at over the years were as warm and welcoming as this beautiful home (with a commercial shed out the back that will become our mortuary) in Ocean Grove. We have money lined up to purchase the property but we need your help to make our building fit-for-purpose. Every dollar you donate this month will be doubled by our anonymous donor. Every dollar you donate buys a part of this community building that will be owned by everyone. Instagram donation link in bio 👆Facebook donation link in comments 👇

We met Mel and Bianca from Elevate Technology Solutions at a Geelong Chamber of Commerce event earlier in the year for Geelong Community Foundation and there was an instant rapport of people and purposes.

Since then, Elevate Technology Solutions has provided printing services for us and Dean Jones and Michael Long (not the sporting legends but legends nonetheless) attended our launch for fundraiser. Our first sighting of them was when they entered our event helping to carry in our display cardboard coffin!!!

Here they are pictured with Tender Funerals Geelong Board Director, Elizabeth, and Jenny Briscoe-Hough from Tender Funerals Australia. Once we are operational, we will also be working with Elevate Technology Solutions to set up our office and help with our printing needs. We can’t rate them highly enough as people and as a business so please support them back! They really make us feel the Geelong Business Community Connection in action. ❤️❤️❤️

COMMUNITY OWNED. COMMUNITY RUN.

Community is why we're building Tender Funerals Geelong, and it's why last night meant so much.

We joined other people doing great things across Geelong and the Bellarine at the launch of this year's North Bellarine Film Festival. Being in a room full of locals making their community stronger is exactly what this is about.
