was established in February 1990, over 30 years ago, and is the ONLY non-referral after hours service feeding those in need 7 nights a week in the Greater City of Geelong. The Outpost abides by a “no questions asked” policy and serves food to a diverse range of local people including young families and children. Some people are sleeping in cars and doorways; others aren’t homeless yet are doing it

tough. The Outpost is very much a community – often the same people come and go; and sadly new faces are ever emerging through the doors. At its core, The Outpost services ensure sure that people have a hot meal, that there’s a place to attend, feel safe, and have a conversation with volunteers and with their community and friends. The Outpost delivers:

*Hot healthy cooked meals
*Hot and cold drinks – Coffee / tea and milo
*New and recycled clothing and shoes
*Fresh fruit and vegetables
*Blankets, beanies, street swags, sleeping bags
*Personal hygiene products (including male and female sanitary products)
*Various other personal items as donated
*Welfare support including food and pharmacy vouchers

Shout out to the team who were onsite last week alongside The Outpost providing gloves, beanies, warm socks, and scarves.

What we love so much about Thread Together is that brand new clothing is given a second chance and delivered straight into the hands of people who want and need it!

There is enormous dignity in the simple luxury of choosing your own style.. and that's what makes a difference.. identity, choice, and hope.

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that The Outpost has been selected as the 2026 Adroit Golf Day Grant recipient.

For some time now we have admired the community annual event and were blown away when their selection of The Outpost was announced. Josie and the Adroit Insurance & Risk team deeply understand the challenges of the community and the impact that they will be able to assist with through their philanthropic support.

The funding raised through this year's Adroit Charity Golf Day will support our ongoing work delivering nutritional food to locals and is supported by the amazing people .

So, if ever there was a reason to get out the golf clubs - this is it! 2026 Adroit Charity Golf Day at 13th Beach Golf Links will be held on Thursday, 19 November. We encourage businesses, clients and community supporters to come together for a great day on the green while raising vital funds.

We were so pleased to welcome Richard Marles MP - Deputy Prime Minister, local Federal MP for Corio and Minister for Defense, to The Outpost Geelong last week.

Richard chatted with and heard the stories of locals in our community, all while getting behind the coffee machine at the grass roots to serve others.

The Outpost is a place of dignity, and we were humbled by the respect shown on both sides of the counter. Thank you!

It takes more than food to ensure the doors of The Outpost remain open - it takes a village and we know we cant do it alone... right down to the systems that keep the back-office humming.

Thank you to .geelong and the for setting us up with our one and only admin desktop computer.

Rehoming IT systems not only serves as an act of sustainability and generosity, it also ensures that the maximum support can be allocated into each and every meal.

We do a lot with a little, and it's through partnerships such as these that The Outpost can focus on and allocate funds towards feeding people in need.

What you may not know is that.... Community Care Chemist also generously donates $5,000 each year to providing full size toiletries that are a luxury to many in our local community.
