Duke siblings, Daniel, Jack and Greta will run non-stop in relay formation around the bay to raise money for a vital wheelchair accessible car for Laura Laura has a rare genetic brain malformation called Lissencephaly. Laura is a fighter, and the strength she exhibits everyday battling seizures and multiple health issues is nothing short of inspiring. However, the financial implications of caring
for a child with multiple disabilities are endless. While the need for her family to support each other through the daily challenges and grief this illness presents are paramount to Laura's and their wellbeing. Lifting Laura out of the family home and in and out of the car is becoming quite a challenge and isn’t comfortable for Laura either. Laura's family desperately need to purchase a wheelchair accessible car to transport Laura and her two younger brothers around. This will give their family the freedom to make lasting memories together and provide Laura with the support she needs to access the community. NDIS should be able to fund the modifications to fit Laura’s wheelchair into the car, but they must first purchase the car themselves. This is where we need your help! You will also be sponsoring 1km of a lap around Port Phillip Bay - effectively "buying" 1km of a relay run, non-stop around the bay. On Friday November 6th, Duke siblings - Daniel, Jack & Greta - will be running in relay formation, non-stop lap around Port Phillip Bay, starting and ending at the Geelong Waterfront. Taking in roughly 240kms, it is hoped that we can sell every single Km via donations to the gofundme campaign. We ask that you donate $50 and when asked to leave a message on the gofundme page, you indicate that you would like to purchase a Km of the run. This will be your Km and you will notified via this page when the Km has been successfully ran by either Daniel, Jack or Greta. We are also auctioning off three 'event entry's' into the run. These will go to highest bidder and will enable you to come down to an agreed upon spot along the run and join either Daniel, Jack or Greta for a 5km stretch of the journey! Your Km donation will also put you into the running for some prizes to be drawn in the week leading up to run in early November, so get donating, pick up your Km and support a worthy cause and an amazing young girl and her family.
