Dear friends, with the rain ☔️ we are becoming a bit desperate looking for a reliable contractor to clean our building gutters, particularly the box gutter, which is unfortunately full of pigeon detritus. We must be honest and open (no secrets😉) and advise that it is not a pleasant job, with several contractors in recent times either refusing the job, or unable to safely complete it 😕

If anyone has any tips on a possible contractor, who must be licensed and insured, please advise. Thank you. 🙂

Gawler Freemason's Hall is looking for a gutter cleaning contractor to clean approximately 12 metres of box gutter on our hall roof, which unfortunately is full of pigeon debris. Must be licensed and insured, and preferably local and willing to implement a regular cleaning program.

It should be noted that although single story, the height is equivalent to two story and there are no safety anchor points.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Bro. Dr. Bruce Eastick AM, a pillar of the Gawler and South Australian community. Our thoughts and prayers are with those close to him. 🌿

A few people have been inquiring about the scaffold on the Union Street side of our old building. The simple explanation is that the gutter along that side is being replaced as it was rusted out. Job will hopefully be completed today or tomorrow.

This coming Saturday 1st November, Gawler Freemasons will be at the Rotary Gawler Village Fair plying our tasty traditional Barossa Kransky dogs and cold drinks, available from about 9am onwards 🌭, please come and get one... or two...

To coincide with this, we will once again be having the Lodge Room open to the public from 10am to about 1pm, corner of Union Street and Lyndoch Road, just across from the Fair (please enter via the Lyndoch Road gate). All welcome!

Sometime between Friday evening and Sunday morning, the gates to our Lodge hall on Lyndoch Road were maliciously kicked in and damaged. Unfortunately it's unlikely that we will be able to claim on insurance, due to the excess.

Given that we are a community based not for profit organisation, that directs any spare funds back into the community by way of charity and benevolence, this is very upsetting for our members, who selflessly volunteer many hours to help raise those funds that will now have to be put towards repairs.

If anyone noticed anything suspicious between Friday 26th and Sunday 28th, please advise the Gawler Police. Thank you.
