Transition Gawler is part of the global Transition Movement which seeks to inspire, catalyse and support community responses to peak oil and climate change. It is positive and solution-focused, and is developing a diversity of tools for building resilience and happiness around the world. As Transition Gawler, we are all about Transitioning Gawler (and surrounding areas) to a low-energy future, we
are interested in "saving the world" (but don't worry most of us are still "normal" people), we focus on the positive (sometimes small) things we can do now which can make a difference, things like awareness raising, growing some of our own food (even if it is only a pot of herbs on the windowsill), reducing wastage, reducing our reliance on cars, sharing produce, skills, and information, buying and supporting local, getting to know others in the community.
