Mealworm Workshop at Garibaldi Hall
Monday 29 June 1-3pm

A fun school holiday event run by Ballarat Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation!

We are inviting up to ten families to join with us to learn how to farm mealworms for wildlife in care. Sick or injured wildlife have a greater requirement for more energy than usual, and they can also have a decreased appetite, so what they eat really counts. This is why we feed them mealworms as they a highly nutritious food source.

We are looking for kids who are interested in helping to grow mealworms that will be used by our wildlife carers and shelters. Everything you need to farm mealworms is provided to get you started. You will need to feed them a slice of carrot and potato on an ongoing basis. Each family will be able to take home one mealworm bucket. They don't smell or make any noise!

Places are limited and bookings are essential. Please book one ticket per family:

Looking for a fun activity for the kids these holidays? Come and join in the fun with Fee from Sweet Sage Farm as she shows the kids how to create kokedamas and hanging succulent gardens using bicycle wheels!

The workshop is free to attend but places are limited and registration is essential. Email [email protected] to secure a spot. Parental supervision is required but there will be tea & coffee for the adults to enjoy too :)
