Our smallest and sickest children will receive world-class care closer to home, thanks to the generosity of Victorians and the unwavering support of the Good Friday Appeal.

This year the Good Friday Appeal and The Royal Children’s Hospital will allocate $3 million in funding to more than 30 regional health services, to ensure every child receives the best possible healthcare, no matter what their postcode is.

Your genorsity will support paediatric care across the state including Albury Wodonga Health and Northeast Health Wangaratta!

This Saturday, the CFA is coming to Gapsted for a Property Advice Visit Service (PAVS).

These free visits are a great opportunity to have a chat about your property, understand your local fire risk, and get practical, tailored advice on how to prepare for bushfire season.

Whether you’ve got a plan already or don’t know where to start, it’s a simple step that can make a real difference.

Alongside Ovens River Group crews from the Buffalo River, Myrtleford, Rosewhite and Mudgegonga brigades, Gapsted Brigade joined a strike team on Thursday night and into Friday morning to support our friends and neighbours responding to the Walwa fire.

While our own community was fortunate to come through an extreme day without significant damage in our area, our thoughts are with all those impacted by the devastation and fear that fire brings.

Although conditions have cooled, the risk is not over. Please remain vigilant, follow advice, and assist where you can.

Gapsted Brigade will continue to support our local community and other areas of Victoria in any way we are able.

On Remembrance Day, we pause to reflect on those who made the ultimate sacrifice serving their country, and honour their memory. We also pay tribute to those who continue to serve their communities today.

We will remember them. Lest we forget.

👩‍🚒 60 Years of Rural Championships 👩‍🚒

What a wonderful day at the District 24 Rural Championships. Gapsted Brigade was thrilled to host teams from Eldorado, Hurstbridge Fire Brigade , Maiden Gully Fire Brigade , Rutherglen Fire Brigade , Springhurst CFA , Strathmerton CFA , Bethanga / Talgarno Rural Fire Brigade , Wodonga West Fire Brigade and Yarroweyah CFA at the Gapsted Recreation Reserve. We couldn't be more proud of the competitors- win or lose, we were so impressed with the sportsmanship on display!

A huge thank you to CFA District 24 Headquarters Brigade, the D24 Championships Committee and volunteers. We are particularly thankful to our friends Whorouly Primary School who kept us fed and caffeinated throughout the day.

We are also so grateful for our incredible sponsors Gapsted Estate , Wodonga Pumps and Mowers and Supaturf Line Marking Systems . Days like these cannot happen without your generosity, and we really appreciate it!

What a fantastic morning at our Get Fire Ready community event! A big thank you to everyone who came along to chat with our members, learn about local fire risks, and took home practical tips on how to plan and prepare ahead of the upcoming fire danger period, as well as some fantastic CFA (Country Fire Authority) Get Fire Ready showbags!

Our incredible junior team ran a fantastic demonstration of their drills, while the senior crew showcased the fire truck and equipment in action. We also appreciated the thoughtful discussion about vegetation management, hazardous trees and local fire safety.

We are so thankful for our friends at Heiner's Bakery - Myrtleford for generously donating morning tea (fire safety is hungry work) and the Gapsted Community Hall for hosting us. It's great to see our community coming together to GET FIRE READY 🔥
