Our next brigade meeting is this

Saturday, 15 August 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Gaeta Rural Fire Brigade, 1113 Gaeta Road, Gaeta.

Mandatory training for all members will also be held on the day after the meeting, so please make every effort to attend.

Afterwards, we’ll have a chance to catch up — bring a plate to share.

🔥 School Holidays Are the Perfect Time to Practise Fire Safety

The school holidays are a great opportunity to spend some time with the kids—and it only takes a few minutes to teach skills that could one day save a life.

Here are a few simple things every family can do:

🚒 Practise your home fire escape plan together.
🏡 Choose a safe meeting place outside your home.
🔔 Help children recognise the sound of a smoke alarm and know that it means "Get down low and go, go, go!"
📞 Teach older children when and how to call Triple Zero (000) in an emergency.
🎨 Make learning fun with free colouring pages, games and fire safety activities available from the Queensland Fire Department.

Children learn best by practising, so turn it into a family activity. The more they practise, the more confident they'll be if they ever need to act.
