It's been a while since we have been on this page for an update on Jobe.
So here we go..
Jobe , 9, MPS 3A or Sanfilippo
Currently commenced his second year at his special school, now considered to be in Grade 4.
The second school year separated from his twin brother Tate.
I thought the transition last year was tough, this year was tougher.
Jobe usually transitions to a new classroom, new teacher and new peers well. Not this year.
This year saw a total new class, new teacher and I think the first 6 weeks he screamed and cried and I carried him through the gates every day of the week.
Mumma also had lots of tears.
Apart from the transition back to school, Jobe is still running, riding, yelling, slamming doors, recycling Lego and loving on his brother like no tomorrow.
And we wouldn't have it any other way.
Last years MRI on his brain showed some regression in terms of the ventricular and matter compared to his brain MRI at 2 years old ( pictures to compare I'll post soon) however all in all it seems he has stayed stable..
9.5 years old ~ cognitively 3 years old BUT undeniably the most chaotic, loud, happy, creative and imaginative 9 year old we have encountered.. with enough love to his twin brother that could never be brought.
Jobes world revolves around Tate.
And dad and I ( we assume )
And my heart explodes that I get to witness this type of love.
The type of love and bond and loyalty we would all be so lucky to experience.

Still enjoying an Easter hat parade even in grade 4, at school for Jobe. Tate was so proud to be there for him too 🥰

What are the first signs of childhood dementia? The first signs are varied and can include seizures, developmental delays and developmental regression (loss of skills already learned).

Early childhood dementia symptoms differ across the 100+ childhood dementia disorders and are unique to each child. But broadly speaking, initial symptoms are a slowing of development, being less able to concentrate and engage, and loss of skills (such as a child not remembering words that they used to be able to say). Other early signs can include hearing and vision loss, speech delay, problems feeding, trouble controlling movement and behavioural problems.

Sadly it’s common for children to remain undiagnosed for significant periods, and sometimes years, and to be misdiagnosed with autism, developmental delay, or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
