Private Lives 4 (PL4) is currently live and open to participants across Australia. The survey is open to all LGBTIQA+ adults (18+) living in Australia and takes around 30 minutes to complete.

It covers a wide range of topics related to health, wellbeing, community connection, and experiences with services.

The data will be used to inform policy, practice, and advocacy efforts nationally.

The link to the survey is here: https://now.latrobe/PrivateLives4Survey2

The survey will remain open until the end of June.

If you're also First Nations, or know someone who is, the organisers are working hard to ensure Rainbow Mob are well represented in the survey, especially Rainbow Mob Elders, so please take the time to complete the survey and share far and wide to ensure there is rich social and emotional wellbeing data for Rainbow Mob of all ages πŸ–€πŸ’›β€οΈπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

Sorry means listening.
Sorry means taking action.
Sorry means you don't do it again.

Today is National Sorry Day. Sorry Day is a reminder for all Australians to acknowledge the truth of how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children were forcibly removed from their families, communities and Country, and the enduring, intergenerational impacts that continue today.

Real change demands leadership, accountability and urgency.

It means acting now to meet the outstanding needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Stolen Generations survivors and their families.

It means delivering on the commitments made nearly three decades ago in the 1997 Bringing Them Home Report, and it means recognising that we cannot close the gap without addressing the ongoing impacts of removal, trauma and disconnection that continue to shape health, wellbeing and life outcomes today.

This is part of the unfinished business of reconciliation.

As Q***r, Trans, and Gender Diverse folks, it is also important that we recognise the intersectional impacts, barriers and challenges that are experienced by Q***r, Trans and Gender Diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People, and continue working towards the implementation of the Walkern Katatdjin Roadmap - https://www.rainbowknowledge.org/roadmap

IDAHOBIT Youth Weekend Workshop

This weekend (May 16th and 17th) WAAC and Freedom will be hosting a special two-day workshop for LGBTIQA+ youth in Kalgoorlie-Boulder.

The weekend is designed as a capacity building course to teach young q***r people fundamental mental health resiliency and to notice the need for help in their peers. These lessons are intended to be taught through conversations of q***r resiliency throughout history, reflective practices on what community looks like today in physical and digital places, and art workshops.

If you're interested in joining Freedom and WAAC for two days of free activities where you can make new friends, have loads of fun, learn more about you and your mental health, create a Zine and more, follow the link below for more information and to sign up.
