Join us at Trans Youth Space on Tuesday October 20 to hang out and do the BirdLife Australia 'Aussie Bird Count'! We'll be checking out the park and the Trans Youth Space garden to contribute to the annual bird count, chatting about birds, and taking some bird quizzes like 'what bird are you?' and 'test your bird knowledge'. https://aussiebirdcount.org.au/

Trans Youth Space is a peer support and community space for trans, gender diverse, nonbinary, sistergirl, brotherboy, and gender questioning young people between 14 and 20 years old.

- The narrowest entry width is 82cm
- Accessible and all gender toilets
- Separate room for if folks need to take a break

- City West train station is across the road from the venue
- The Yellow CAT bus stops a few mins away on Wellington Street

Join us at Trans Youth Space on Tuesday October 13 to hang out and paint the Trans Youth Space garden wall! We're sprucing up the TYS garden with a mural and this week we're getting started with a coat of primer. Or if painting's not your thing, come along and hang out and chat!

Come along this Sunday for 'Communication for Self-Advocacy' one of four My Voice, My Rights, My Way Self-Advocacy Workshops.

Transfolk WA are partnering with Consumers of Mental Health WA to deliver a free peer-led My Voice, My Rights, My Way Self-Advocacy workshop series, exclusively for trans and gender diverse folks.

Facilitated by trans and gender diverse people, and informed by data collected from an exclusively trans and gender diverse focus group, these workshops are designed to be friendly, accessible, and fun for trans and gender diverse participants!

Transfolk WA's Adult Peer Support Group Facilitator Alex Beck-Busetti (they/them) will be supporting CoMHWA's Jeannie Williams (she/her) to deliver these workshops. We have provided a short bio about both Alex and Jeannie, so that when you come along, you'll already be familiar with who your facilitators are.

These workshops have been designed to help you understand your rights, speak up for your needs, and feel more prepared to self-advocate in mental health care and beyond.

Through these workshops you will:
- learn lifelong practical Self-Advocacy skills
- Feel confident to speak up in your own way
- Take home resources to support you

There are four stand-alone workshops in the series, so you can attend all or some of them, depending on your interest and availability.

These workshop will run on the First Sunday of the Month from 1:30-4:30pm in the Training Room at Consumers of Mental Health WA (14-275 Belmont Avenue, Cloverdale)

The four topics for the workshops are:

- Self-Advocacy 101 (Sunday 6 September 2026)
- Communication for Self-Advocacy (Sunday 4 October 2026)
- Preparing for Appointments (Sunday 1 November 2026)
- Navigating Complaints (Sunday 6 December 2026)
