Gardening With Microbes

How's your garden doing in this heat? Keeping it alive is not all about water, but it is about the soil. And especially about the microbe life in your soil.

EarthWhile Australia is delivering a two-hour workshop on 'Gardening with Microbes' Sunday next (Feb 2nd, 10am - 12 noon) at Ecoburbia in Beaconsfield.

Shani Graham from Ecoburbia has organised the workshop. She says that what she learned from attending an earlier session of this workshop completely changed the way she thinks about gardening ... which is why she is hosting it on Sunday.

In April, we held a workshop in the garden on ‘Growing Paper Daisies (Everlastings) at Home’. With Everlastings now in bloom, we hope that those who attended the workshop, and planted the seeds they received, are now enjoying the rewards of their efforts.

On a great morning to be in the garden, we had a fabulous workshop Sunday on 'How to grow Paper Daisies (everlastings) at Home'. Grady Brand and Lesley Hammersley, both members of EFF community garden, and more widely known for their decades of work at Kings Park and Botanic Garden, led the workshop which covered all aspects of growing paper daisies in the ground and in containers, as well as harvesting and drying flowers and seed collection.
