Today we’re celebrating Simon, our Executive Manager of People and Culture.

Over the past few years, Simon has played a key role in helping the Stephen Michael Foundation grow and strengthen the way we work. From supporting systems and processes behind the scenes to ensuring our people have what they need to succeed, his contribution has had a lasting impact across the organisation.

Known for his fun, bubbly energy and genuine care for others, Simon is always willing to lend a hand, share a laugh, and support our team to be the best they can be.

This past week has created space for conversations, reflection and learning across our programs and team.

As National Reconciliation Week comes to a close, we’re sharing a few reflections from students and staff. The week may be over, but the importance of listening, learning and understanding remains.

A special shout out to our staff Jamelia, Maria and Sabella for the meaningful contributions they made throughout the week. It’s empowering to see young women sharing their perspectives, leading conversations and helping create opportunities for others to learn and reflect. 🖤💛❤️

Stephen Michael’s impact on and off the field is legendary.

The South Fremantle Football Club champion took home the Sport Award at the 2026 Western Australian of the Year Awards this week.

Since it was established in 2017 (this pic is from around then!), the Stephen Michael Foundation has empowered young people across WA through sport, leadership and culture.

The foundation also champions inclusion for girls and young women in sport.

Generous and genuine, he’s an all round good guy who believes in the power of teamwork. 🤝

Paul’s dedication to the Foundation, our staff, and the young people we support is second to none. He is incredibly passionate about creating positive opportunities and is always looking for ways to strengthen our programs, partnerships and impact across WA.

A strong leader, mentor and supporter, Paul is always willing to share his knowledge, encourage those around him, and back people to succeed. His belief in the potential of others has helped shape the culture of the Foundation and the work we do every day.

From the early days of SMF through to where we are now, Paul has been instrumental in driving the organisation forward and ensuring we continue to grow while staying true to our purpose.
