Yogazeit Programs Transition to Curtin University/Act Belong Commit

Kaya Yogis,

We have some big news to share with you. As of June 30, 2024, Yogazeit is winding down. While this is a bittersweet moment for us, we are absolutely thrilled to announce that our popular programs will live on through a fantastic new partnership with Curtin University and Act Belong Commit.

Yogazeit’s children's and teens yoga teacher trainings, the unique Indigenous Youth Yoga Teacher Training Deadly Minds™, and other online learning programs will continue to flourish at Act Belong Commit. This means even more opportunities for growth, learning, and social impact through the benefits of Mindfulness and Movement Education.

We couldn’t be happier about this next chapter. Curtin University’s commitment to education and community aligns perfectly with our values, and we’re excited to see how our programs will blossom under their care. "Passing our programs on to Curtin University is a very exciting new chapter," says Regina Cruickshank, Founder of Yogazeit. "It ensures that the work we've done together over the years will continue to impact lives in meaningful ways. We can’t wait to see what the future holds."

We want to take this moment to thank you – our incredible community. Your support, enthusiasm, and participation have made Yogazeit what it is today. You've helped us bring mindfulness and movement education to so many children, teens, and educators – even in some of Australia’s most remote areas - and for that, we are eternally grateful. A special thanks also to our Executive and Advisory Board who have guided Yogazeit's path and helped shape our journey with their passion and commitment.

As we transition, we’ll keep you updated on all the exciting developments. For more information about the programs at Act Belong Commit/Curtin University, stay tuned to our socials.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of our journey. This isn't goodbye – it's just a new beginning, and we’re so glad to have you with us as Yogazeit’s programs step into this exciting future.

With love and gratitude, one breath at a time,

The Yogazeit Team

In October 2023, we filmed our Deadly Minds graduates completing their Indigenous Youth Yoga Teacher training at Karijini National Park.

With thanks to a Here to Be grant from lululemon Centre for Social Impact, we have used the filming and audio captured during the training and combined this with the Deadly Minds curriculum to create a fantastic website and online training platform.

The expertise, skills, knowledge, and passion of Sanz Web Development made online delivery of an in-person training possible. With their enthusiasm and attention to detail, they have expertly brought the heart of Deadly Minds online, and we could not be more proud of the end result. Ending the project by adding our first scholarships onto the platform was a massive highlight.

With heartfelt special thanks to Sharn for your outstanding presentation on camera, for all the hard work on imagery, design, and preparation of the curriculum to be transferred online, and the mighty team at Yogazeit for generously supporting this project and thank you to our partner Act Belong Commit

“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”—Benjamin Franklin.

During our in-person training, there are many opportunities to "feel" Deadly Minds. How a shape feels, how a breath feels, how fun and interactive games are or take part in a Deadly Minds class.

We have made our lessons interactive, with opportunities to participate, instruct, and practice breathing, relaxation, shapes, and games. Please actively follow along, implement the lessons you learn from the curriculum and share them with friends, family, and youth.

Deadly Minds has 10 online modules, each consisting of mini-lessons. Some lessons take only a few minutes, while other lessons will take more time as you watch, read, listen, engage and practice the content.

This course is usually delivered in person over 4 - 5 days!

There are learning reflections and quizzes to check your understanding throughout the course. Learning reflections are encouraged but not compulsory. Quizzes are needed to complete the whole Indigenous Youth Yoga Teacher training.

You can take quizzes as many times as needed. All the answers are included in the online curriculum and can be found in the downloadable workbooks. Interested in learning more? Please visit www.Deadlyminds.com.au

In our online curriculum for Deadly Minds, we have created lessons that visually demonstrate the lesson and also provide a written resource of how to instruct breathing, relaxation, movement, and games.

Some lessons in the curriculum are more in-depth. For example, anatomy knowledge is needed to safely instruct growing bodies and minds, so you will find more comprehensive lessons with interactive flashcards, image hotspots, videos, audio, and written theory.

Throughout online learning, you will find opportunities to take a breath, follow along with a lesson at home, practice games or relaxations with friends and family. We would love to show you more this week. Registrations of interest are open now at www.deadlyminds.com.au
