As we wrap up our 2025–26 grant from the Frankston Charitable Fund, a community fund account of the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Fund, we’re incredibly grateful for the difference this support has made at our Pets In The Park Frankston clinic.

The funding enabled our volunteer veterinary team to provide essential veterinary procedures and additional care for the companion animals of people experiencing homelessness — helping pets stay healthier and supporting the very special bond they share with their owners.

For our clients, access to veterinary care can make an enormous difference, not only to the health and wellbeing of their pets, but also to their own wellbeing and peace of mind.

Thank you to the Frankston Charitable Fund and Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation for investing in our work and helping us provide care where it is needed most. 💙🐾

Here’s a little look at the impact your support helped make possible. 👇

Huge shout out of thanks to Frankston City Council for their funding support in last year's community grants round. With their support we were able to provide mental health and First Aid training for our volunteers, buy cat and dog food and dental treats, and paid for essential medicines and parasite control for cats and dogs. On behalf of our team of volunteers, thank you for the support...it is greatly appreciated :)

We’re incredibly fortunate at Pets In The Park Frankston to have some wonderful people and organisations behind our clinic — and today we’d like to say a very special thank you. 💙🐾

Our heartfelt thanks to Petstock , and particularly the team at Petstock South Morang, for their continued and generous support through regular donations of pet food.

These donations allow us to provide food to our clients for their much-loved pets at our monthly clinics — practical support that can make a very real difference. We’re enormously grateful to the Petstock team for continuing to support our Frankston community.

This wonderful relationship has been largely facilitated by one of our long-standing volunteers, Susan, who is now taking a well-earned step back after an incredible seven years with PITP Frankston.

Susan volunteered for five years as a vet nurse before spending the past two years as our donation coordinator — and in seven years, she missed just five clinics! Her commitment to our clients, their pets and our volunteer team has been truly remarkable, and so much of what happens behind the scenes at Frankston has benefited from her generosity, reliability and willingness to simply get things done.

Susan, thank you for seven wonderful years of service to PITP Frankston. Your contribution has been invaluable, and we are so very grateful to have had you as part of our team. 💙

As Susan steps back, we’re also delighted that Jess from RSPCA Outreach has generously offered to take on the storage and management of our donated pet food and help ensure it continues to reach the people and pets who need it.

Thank you, Jess, for stepping up and supporting our clinic — and thank you again to Petstock South Morang, Susan and everyone who helps keep this wonderful circle of community support going.

It really does take a community to make our clinics possible.

An incredible $20,000 boost for PITP Frankston 💚🐾

We are incredibly grateful to the Rotary Frankston Sunrise Foundation for awarding Pets In The Park Frankston a generous $20,000 Community Grant for 2026–27.

This significant funding will help our volunteer team continue providing free veterinary care to the pets of people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity across Frankston and surrounding areas.

Importantly, it will support not only essential care such as vaccinations, parasite prevention and medications, but also help fund desexing, diagnostic testing, x-rays and urgent or more complex veterinary procedures when our patients need them.

For our clients, the cost of veterinary care can be prohibitive. Support like this helps remove that barrier, keeping much-loved pets healthy and, importantly, together with the people who rely on them for companionship, comfort and stability.

We were also delighted to welcome Rotarian and Foundation Trustee Ross Luxford to our clinic last weekend. Ross has been appointed as the Foundation’s point of contact with PITP Frankston and spent time chatting with Dr Lucy and veterinary nurse May, learning more about our clinic and seeing the team in action.

To Ross and everyone at the Rotary Frankston Sunrise Foundation — thank you. Your generosity will have a very real impact on the people and pets we support. 💚

This week marks Homelessness Week 2026, a time to raise awareness of homelessness in Australia and the collective action needed to create lasting change.

At Pets In The Park, we see every day how important the bond between people and their companion animals can be.

Through our volunteer veterinary clinics, we're proud to provide free veterinary care that helps keep pets healthy and supports the people who love them.

It's practical support, delivered with compassion, and it's only possible because of our incredible volunteers, referral partners, supporters and donors.

Thank you for helping us make a difference...because caring for pets is also caring for people.

We're incredibly honoured to have been selected as the 2026 charity partner for the iconic Commentators Club Grand Final Luncheon.

What began in 1997 as a gathering of just 30 friends with a shared passion for Australian Rules football has grown into one of Melbourne's most anticipated AFL Grand Final week events. More importantly, it has become a remarkable force for good.

For almost three decades, the Commentators Club has chosen to direct the proceeds from its annual luncheon to grassroots charities making a real difference in the community, with over $400,000 distributed so far.

This year, we're humbled that Pets In The Park has been chosen as the beneficiary.

Funds raised will directly support our Melbourne clinics in St Kilda, Melbourne and Frankston, helping us provide free veterinary care to the pets of people experiencing homelessness.

A heartfelt thank you to Neville "Nifty" James, Geoff "Joffa" Donohue, the Commentators Club committee, and every guest attending and sponsor supporting this year's luncheon. Your generosity will have a lasting impact on the people and pets we support.

The luncheon is already sold out which is testament to the passion of everyone involved but you can join the wait list here: https://www.commentators.com.au/book

We feel incredibly privileged to be part of this year's event and can't wait to be part of what promises to be a fantastic afternoon. You can learn more about this incredible annual event here: https://www.commentators.com.au/
