This Mother's Day we remember all the babies born sleeping, those we've carried but never met, those we've held but couldn't take home, and the ones that came home but couldnโ€™t stay.

This Motherโ€™s Day we remember all Mothers.

-The ones who nurture their children here on earth.
-The ones who carry some, if not all of their babies in their heart.
-The ones who yearn just to conceive a child.
-The ones who have fur babies.
-The ones who are no longer here on earth.

Thinking of all on Mother's Day.

Researchers from University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC) are currently seeking women to participate in a study exploring experiences of early pregnancy loss care within Queensland emergency departments among women who have experienced one or more adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).

Have you experienced an early pregnancy loss or miscarriage? Do you also have a history of adverse childhood experiences?

We are looking for women who:
Experienced an early pregnancy loss before 13 weeks gestation after 2011
Were aged 18 years or older at the time
Presented to a Queensland emergency department for care
Have experienced one or more adverse childhood experiences (ACEs)
Are willing to participate in a confidential interview about their experience

This research aims to better understand womenโ€™s experiences of emergency care during early pregnancy loss and help inform more compassionate, trauma-informed care in the future.
Participation is completely voluntary and confidential. Interviews will be conducted sensitively, and participants are free to pause or withdraw at any time.
If you would like more information or are interested in participating, please follow the link below:

Today, 4th May is Termination For Medical Reasons Awareness Day. It can be heartbreaking to find out that your unborn baby has a condition that will likely not be compatible with life.

Termination for Medical Reasons (TFMR) is when a pregnancy is ended due to a genetic, chromosomal or structural fetal abnormality, or where continuation of the pregnancy may create risk to health or life of the pregnant mother.

Parents are then faced with the extremely difficult decision of whether to continue with the pregnancy, or end the pregnancy due to medical concerns.

We are so sorry if you have experienced TFMR, and we encourage you to seek support.

Anyone impacted can have a token in memory of their baby placed in the Butterfly Garden at Bunurong Memorial Park. Please contact Southern Metropolitan Cemeteties Trust to order your token

Today, the first Sunday in May, is National Miscarriage Awareness Day, a day of remembrance and reflection for anyone who has been impacted by miscarriage and early pregnancy loss. ๐ŸŽ—

National Miscarriage Awareness Day is held one week prior to Motherโ€™s Day, as the time leading up to Motherโ€™s Day can be difficult for anyone who has experienced early pregnancy loss.

There is no right or wrong way to grieve after miscarriage and early pregnancy loss, as everyone responds in their own way.

A service for National Miscarriage Awareness Day and a tour of the beautiful Butterfly Garden is being held in the Sanctuary at Bunurong Memorial Park from 10.45am, to remember all of the babies lost too soon.

If you would like a token to be placed in the Butterfly Garden in memory of your baby, please reach out to Miscarriage Information Support Service, and know that there is support available. ๐Ÿ’›
