Unfortunately due to commitments at other Memorials, our usual organisers won't be available to run our annual Anzac Day Memorial.
Henry Kennedy has kindly offered to lower our flag and place our community wreath at 10am, giving folk the opportunity to show their respect.

❤️💚FRANKFORD COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS DINNER update. ❤️💚

flyers will be making a way to letter boxes regarding the Christmas dinner. ❤️💚 hopefully by last weekend of November, first weekend of December at the latest.

But until then mark the date in the calendar.

13th of December.
4-7pm.

This is what we have in mind so far.
Again any input is welcome.
Hoping to have a Santa organised by end of next week and If we get one, he will arrive at 4.30pm to chat with the kids and have some photos.
We will be getting some activities together for the kids to play outside, cricket and possibly a hunt for some choccies.

Bring a dish.
Whether that be meat, pasta bake, desserts, salads or finger food, all is welcome.

I am aiming to try and have a little list of people together and what dish they will bring so we don't have 101 salads and nothing else if that makes sense ❤️

I'm more than happy to hold another meeting if people want it on a weekend before the 13th to crunch out dishes ( who's bringing what)
I'm going to supply some snags on the bbq and bread.
Easy meal for the kids because we all know what kids are like when there is fun to be had..

We will have some Christmas songs playing, if you want to have a dance you are most welcome the floor is yours 💃🏼🕺

Dinner will be 5pm
That way parents can get the young ones home by 6pm if they want.
If you wish to stay longer then the 7pm break up time and hang out with your fellow frankford people you are absolutely most welcome..

If you need to reheat what you bring, we will have a couple ovens on the go for that, which should hopefully be enough.

💚❤️CHRISTMAS COMMUNITY DINNER!! 💚❤️

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!

We are putting feelers out for community interest in having a Christmas dinner together at the hall.

The idea looks something like this,

Everyone comes together for some Christmas cheer,
We each bring a plate, whether that be some meat, salads, pasta bake or desserts to share.
We are hoping to get a Santa for the kids in area to have some photos with and bring some extra excitement for the Christmas.

Before going ahead and picking a date
We need community interest first.
Please comment below if this is something you'd be interested in..
Christmas is a special/magical time of the year especially for the young children in the area.

We haven't had a dinner together for quite a few years. But it was something pretty amazing when we did have one.
A great way to get to know your neighbours and the kids to have a wonderful evening.

If anyone would like to get involved in the organising please also reach out. Any help is welcome.

These two whipper snappers attended an awards day with TFS recently. Neville Hall on the left has been our brigade chief for the past 8 years and has been awarded a certificate and 40 year service medal. Denis Hall on the right was one of the founding members of the Frankford/Birralee brigade and he received his 45 year service medal along with a 3rd clasp on his National Medal.
Thanks both of you for such ongoing dedicated service to our community!

The West Tamar Council is coming to a town near you!

Following on from the success of last year’s inaugural Community Roadshow, Mayor Christina Holmdahl, CEO Kristen Desmond, Councillors and managers of the West Tamar Council will be hitting the road starting from August 26, stopping off at a number of towns for a series of community forums.

Residents will be able to come along, listen to a presentation from our CEO on what Council has in store for the municipality over the coming year, meet with the Mayor, Councillors and Council Executive to discuss your concerns, ask questions and engage with the elected members of your community.

Light refreshments will be available at each roadshow event.

Those intending on attending will need to RSVP for each event in advance for catering purposes.
