๐Ÿ”ฅ Total Fire Ban Tomorrow ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Hi everyone โ€” just a friendly reminder from the Foster Fire Brigade that tomorrow has been declared a Total Fire Ban day.
๐Ÿšซ This means no fires at all, including:

Campfires
Burnโ€‘offs
Fire pits and chimineas
Solid fuel BBQs
Incinerators

โœ… Gas BBQs can still be used only if they meet Total Fire Ban rules.
With hot and windy conditions expected, fires can start and spread very quickly. Weโ€™re asking everyone to please take extra care and help keep our community safe.

๐Ÿšจ If you see smoke or fire, call 000 immediately.

๐Ÿš’ Incident Update โ€“ Foster Fire Brigade ๐Ÿš’

This morning , Foster Fire Brigade attended a vehicle accident at the corner of the South Gippsland Highway and Toora Road. Thankfully, there were no serious injuries.

Weโ€™d like to take this opportunity to remind everyone:
If you see our appliances with lights on, or our members displaying a STOP / SLOW sign, please slow to 40km/h and proceed with caution โ€” on both sides of the road.

Our goal is always to get you where you need to be as quickly as possible, but itโ€™s just as important that the scene is safe and that our volunteer members can do their job safely.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support of your local volunteers. Stay safe on the roads ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿš’

Congratulations to our member Paul Austin who won the Rotary Club Volunteer of the year award for 2025. Paul has served both Foster CFA and SES over many many years in an operational capacity and is currently our Brigade Communications Officer.
It is fantastic to see one of our local volunteers being honoured for the hardwork and dedication he puts into keeping our community safe.
Well done Paul and thank you for your continuing service.

TOTAL FIRE BAN TODAY โ€“ PLEASE READ ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Hi everyone,
Just a reminder that today is a Total Fire Ban, even though the weather has cooled down and the wind has eased. Unfortunately, fire danger can still be high due to dry conditions, and restrictions remain in place for everyoneโ€™s safety.

That means no fires of any kind โ€” including burn-offs, campfires, fire pits or solid fuel BBQs.

We know it can be a bit confusing when the weather feels calmer, but these rules are in place to protect our community, our firefighters, and our environment. ๐Ÿ’›

Please also be aware that any breaches of the Total Fire Ban will be reported, and police will be notified.

Thank you for doing the right thing and helping us keep Foster and surrounding areas safe. If youโ€™re unsure whether something is allowed, itโ€™s always best to play it safe and not light it.

Stay safe everyone,
Foster Fire Brigade ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ

Lightning caused havoc across the region last night. Remember, today is a day of Total Fire Ban and still high risk for fires. Great work across brigades this morning and good luck to our members who are supporting strike teams across the state.

We've all blocked a number after receiving an unwanted text or call, but if you see +61 444 444 444 pop up on your phone while you're at home or travelling throughout the state, it is important you do not block this one.

This phone number is linked to Emergency Alert, a national telephone warning system used by emergency services across the country to send voice messages to landlines and text messages to mobiles within a specific area to warn people about current emergencies.

Emergency Alert is not used in all situations, so itโ€™s important to rely on more than just one source of emergency information.

๐Ÿšจ Foster Fire Brigade Update ๐Ÿšจ
We are currently on standby and ready to respond if needed over the next couple high heat days.

Please take a moment to ensure:
โœ… Your property number is clearly visible from the road โ€“ this helps us find you quickly in an emergency.
โœ… Access to your property is clear for fire trucks โ€“ trim overhanging branches, move vehicles, and make sure gates are wide enough.
Every minute counts in an emergency, and these simple steps can make a big difference.
Stay safe, and thank you for helping us help you!

This morning our brigade along with Ruby Fire Brigade, Ambulance Victoria, SES Leongatha Unit and Vic Police attended a 3 Vehicle accident on the South Gippsland Hwy between Korumburra & Ruby. Although there were multiple people conveyed to hospital thankfully there were no life threatening injuries

Today we encountered many bystanders on our arrival within the accident scene that were not directly involved or rendering assistance which made it difficult for emergency services to assess the scene and the patients.

๐Ÿš’Just a reminder to please allow our emergency services time and space to accurately assess the scene on our arrival.
If you are not directly involved in the accident & you donโ€™t need to or no longer need to render assistance to those involced please remain or return to your vehicle until further instructed by emergency services.

๐Ÿ“ธ Please also refrain from filming or taking photos within a scene.
