🏆✈️ Industry Association of the Year — two years running!

We are incredibly proud to announce that Angel Flight Australia has been named Industry Association of the Year at the 2026 Australian Aviation Awards, marking our second consecutive win!

The Australian Aviation Awards are a wonderful celebration of the people and organisations that keep Australia’s aviation industry moving. From pilots and engineers to safety professionals, educators, innovators, operational teams and the countless people working behind the scenes, there are so many pieces of the puzzle that come together to make this incredible industry tick.

It was a fantastic evening celebrating those contributions and the achievements taking place across aviation, aerospace and defence throughout Australia.

We extend our warmest congratulations to all the finalists and winners recognised on the night.

For Angel Flight, this award is also a reflection of the extraordinary people who make our work possible.

Today, we're asking our Angel Flight community to support one of our own.

For many years, one of our dedicated volunteer drivers has generously helped Angel Flight passengers access vital medical care. Now, their family needs a helping hand.

Their beautiful granddaughter, Grace, is 12 months old and was born deaf. She has been offered a rare gene therapy treatment in the US that could give her the gift of hearing, but the surgery on 20 August comes with a cost of hundreds of thousands of dollars, and time is running out.

After two decades of changing lives from the skies, it's time to say thank you to an extraordinary volunteer.

Congratulations and heartfelt thanks to Nick McGlone as he finishes up his volunteering with Angel Flight after an incredible 20 years of service.

Since joining Angel Flight in 2005, Nick has combined his love of flying with a passion for helping others, completing an outstanding 602 flights for people in rural and regional Australia needing access to vital medical care. That's 602 flights filled with compassion, generosity and hope.

Over the years, Nick has donated countless hours, shared his skills, and welcomed passengers aboard with a reassuring smile.

Nick's story is a wonderful reminder that flying can be about so much more than aviation. It can provide purpose, connection and the chance to make a genuine difference in someone's life. Every mission flown represents a patient who received the care they needed, a family who felt supported, and a community strengthened through kindness.

Nick, thank you for your unwavering dedication over the past 20 years, and for the lasting impact you've had on so many lives. Your generosity embodies the very spirit of Angel Flight, and your legacy will continue to inspire future volunteer pilots.

🌱✈️ A huge thank you to the wonderful volunteers at Unley Gardener's Plant Rescue for their incredible donation of $10,000 to Angel Flight!

Based in Fullarton Park, South Australia, this dedicated non-profit volunteer group has found a truly inspiring way to make a difference. They rescue and rejuvenate donated plants that might otherwise go to waste, then sell them at their bi-monthly Sunday plant sales, with proceeds supporting charitable causes.

Since the group's inception in 2003, their hardworking volunteers have raised more than $210,000 for charities through their innovative and sustainable approach. It's a brilliant example of how recycling, reusing and giving back can create lasting benefits for communities across Australia.

We are incredibly grateful that Angel Flight has been chosen as one of the beneficiaries of their generosity. Donations like this help us continue connecting people in rural and regional Australia with the medical care they need.
