🌿 A garden party with a purpose! 💙

What happens when Freemasons, families and friends come together for a great afternoon and a great cause?

More than 70 people from across the Wide Bay region gathered for a Garden Party hosted by Hervey Bay Daylight Lodge, enjoying afternoon tea, live music and the chance to explore the MG Car and Memorabilia Museum.

But the real highlight was giving back to the local community.

Through the event, Hervey Bay Daylight Lodge presented an incredible $10,000 cheque to Fraser Coast Mates, with further funds from the raffle and event proceeds still to come.

It was a fantastic example of what can happen when Freemasons work together to support their communities. As the Lodge reflected after the event, great things can be achieved when everyone comes together for a common purpose.

A huge congratulations to everyone at Hervey Bay Daylight Lodge who helped make the day such a success, and thank you to Bunnings Hervey Bay, Fraser Coast Mates and everyone who contributed prizes, volunteered, attended and supported the fundraiser.

👏 A terrific community effort!

You don’t need to know everything to be a great HHP Champion! 🙌

At our recent Champions workshop, we reflected on the qualities that great Champions personify: being approachable, connected, informed, trusted, helpful, curious and engaged.

Being a Champion isn’t about having every answer. It’s about being curious, staying connected and being willing to help. ❤️

If you're interested in becoming an HHP Champion - or know a fellow freemason who would be a great candidate - please reach out to us at [email protected]. We're particularly looking for Members in regional, rural and remote QLD.

This year's Philanthropy Australia conference theme, Mobilising Generosity, Shaping the Future, was a timely reminder of what's possible when philanthropists, funders and community organisations come together around a shared purpose.

We enjoyed reconnecting with the team from Freemasons Foundation Victoria and joining conversations about the partnerships, ideas and investment needed to create lasting impact.

We're refreshing our celebrated Champions program, and we want you to be part of it. 🎉

Champions are the friendly local face of Hand Heart Pocket: the Members who bring our purpose to life in their Lodges and communities, help fellow Members get the most out of Matched Giving, and are among the first to hear about new initiatives. We want to grow our footprint, so every region has someone championing HHP on the ground, and there's never been a better time to get involved. With a bigger Matched Giving program and plenty more on the way,
there's real momentum to be part of right now.

There’s plenty of news to share. Join us for an upcoming information session on the 22nd September to learn more about the refreshed role and ask questions.

A wonderful example of how stories shared within a family and community can lead to great collaborative giving 🫶

Hand Heart Pocket are so pleased to support Hummingbird House in partnership with Morayfield Freemasons - Lodge #95 UGLQ.

Our new matched giving program is live and we're looking forward to receiving applications from our Members that showcase amazing local community organisations throughout Queensland!

Six degrees of separation is a fact, not a theory, at Hummingbird House.

We recently received an incredibly generous gift of $6,000 from the Morayfield Freemasons - Lodge #95 UGLQ, followed by a surprise gift of $5,000 through Hand Heart Pocket's matched giving program.

Why Hummingbird House?

A lovely wife of one of the Brethren found an old Hummingbird House flyer at her workplace, and was so touched by what she read that she took it home and shared it with her husband.

The Lodge then committed to raising funds for the House, with Hand Heart Pocket—the charitable arm of Freemasons Queensland, and long-time supporters of Hummingbird House—generously matching their fundraising effort! ✨

We love these moments of serendipity which connect the community to the House! 🏡💜 Our heartfelt thanks goes to the Freemasons for their continued generosity and support.

Hot dogs for assistance dogs! 🌭🦮
Fabulous to see the partnership between Tibrogargan Lodge No.305 - Qld Freemasonry and In the Paws of Angels Inc. in full swing. Bunnings BBQs are a favourite activity of QLD freemasons to raise important funds for local charity organisations supporting people in need. Plus, everyone loves a Saturday morning run to the hardware store!
