What’s on in October at 4ZZZ! A very busy end of October on the horizon so here’s your rundown 🎶🎶

October 18th - Randomizzzed 4ZZZ Alive @ Midnight Compilation Launch at Banshees Bar & Artspace - Live music and art in Ipswich, Qld. Celebrate the compilation album with nine of the acts that feature on it!

October 23rd - Sunnyboys Exclusive Australian Show RomaStreetParkland with The Clouds Bloxy Bass mickmedew_and_ursula4

October 24th - ZED51 RomaStreetParkland with 13 bands, two stages and no crossover! Celebrating the legacy and future of 4ZZZ with bands that have been apart of our journey including Mudhoney Custard Fred Leone The Mark Of Cain and more!

October 27th - Brisbane Screen Activism of the 80s and Now supported by 4ZZZ. Our very own, Nat Osbourne of Radio Reversal Collective will be at the event and recording segments to broadcast on the show!

October 29th - 4ZZZ x Season Three Takeover night October Edition with tickertape Arianna The Kinder Rox from 7pm! $5 tickets!

The 4ZZZ x Season Three Takeover October edition is here!

4ZZZ has curated a lineup of amazing local bands that we know and love on the 102.1FM airwaves with tickertape Arianna The Kinder Rox.

These nights are a celebration of our incredible music community and what local acts 4ZZZ has been loving platforming and celebrating. Come along on October 29th from 7pm. Tickets are $5, free for First Nations attendees.

Under 18s must purchase tickets online, in advance. No door sales, even if space is available, for anyone under 18.

Last week on Radio Reversal, Anna was joined by very special guest Remah Naji to reflect on three years of genocide and resistance in Gaza.

Remah is a Palestinian linguist, writer, activist and political organiser based here in Magan-djin/Brisbane, and one of the spokespeople for Justice for Palestine Magan-djin.

She joined Anna to talk through the past three years of grief, rage, and the fight ahead. From the ongoing desperate struggle for freedom in Gaza, to the growing global movements against imperialism everywhere, they reflected on what we have learnt from the past three years of horror, hope, and rebellion.

From the limits of liberal tactics of change, to the need for mass movements against all forms of imperialism, they talked about what it will take to create a new vocabulary for justice in the aftermath of this ongoing atrocity.

Last week on Talking Zeds, Costa Zouliou spoke with legendary producer and engineer Lachlan Goold, more commonly known around the city as Magoo.

Magoo’s fingerprint is all over the sound of Magandjin/Brisbane including producing and working with bands like Custard, Regurgitator, and Pangaea.

They spoke about where Magoo’s sound journey began, working with limitations and what options you have at your disposal in the studio, the switch from analog to digital and recounted many stories including recording Not From There from outside the studio to get the right take in the cold!

It was an amazing chat with two individuals who have had such involvement, engagement and experience in Australian music since the 90’s.

Talking Zeds airs every Thursday from 10am-12pm with different hosts discussing all things community, interest and variety. Thank you Costa for this amazing week of Talking Zeds!
