Today we celebrate the start of National Reconciliation Week (27 May – 3 June). This year's theme, "All In," serves as a powerful reminder that reconciliation isn't a spectator sport - it's a daily commitment for all of us.

We all have a role to play in building respectful relationships and a fairer future with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Let's commit to learning, listening, and taking meaningful action together.

Check out Reconciliation Australia's website https://www.reconciliation.org.au/our-work/national-reconciliation-week/ for events and actitivies you can get involved with, and take a look at QPP's 'Innovate' Reconciliation Action Plan at https://www.qpp.org.au/about/reports-publications/reconciliation-action-plan/

On this solemn day, RAPID and Queensland Positive People recognise National Sorry Day.

National Sorry Day remembers and commemorates the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who were forcibly removed from their families and communities, which we now know as ‘The Stolen Generations’.

It is an integral part of our ongoing national reconciliation, to apologise and show our respect to all of the families who continue to be impacted. We offer our solemn reflection of past injustices, during today, and everyday, as all Australians move together towards a better future.

The Healing Foundation's National Sorry Day theme is 'From Sorry to Action'. Acknowledging past harm is important, but acting to address it is critical. Sorry signals compassion, action
delivers justice.

The call is clear, we must move from words to action, and this needs to happen now, not in another decade.

We encourage you to mark today, National Sorry Day, and to stand with us to ensure this day is part of an ongoing commitment to truth-telling and healing.

Last night, we hit a massive milestone: 70,000 occasions of service!

We’ve grown a lot since the early days on Winn St, but our core mission has never changed. The trust you place in us for your s*xual health care means everything.

To date, our peer testers have supported 126 individuals through a HIV diagnosis, guiding them safely into treatment and ongoing care. We’ve also helped detect and manage thousands of other infections, including 497 cases of syphilis, 5,125 of chlamydia, and 2,629 of gonorrhoea.

Beyond the numbers, what matters most is that every single person is welcomed into a safe, judgment-free space. We believe everyone deserves free, accessible s*xual health care, leaving our clinic feeling empowered and educated.

Thank you to our amazing clients and the healthcare community for standing with us. Here’s to the next milestone!

Your voice matters 💜

2Spirits and QC are working with the University of Queensland to better understand community knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, and mpox vaccine uptake. Your input helps shape future health campaigns and support our communities 🌈

If you’re a gay or bis*xual man, another man who has s*x with men (cis or trans), a trans woman, or a non-binary person aged 16+ living in Queensland, and have been s*xually active in the past six months, we want to hear from you.

The survey takes just 10–15 minutes ⏱️

Your responses are anonymous and make a real difference.

If you have used our RAPID service before, are living with HIV, or are connected to our Queensland Positive People community, we’d love your help to shape our programs and services for the future.

Visit www.qpp.org.au/plan and complete our short survey to help us help us co-design our new QPP Strategic Plan for 2026 and beyond.

The survey is anonymous and confidential, and asks about the current and future needs of people living with, at risk of, or affected by HIV in Queensland, as well as the priorities for QPP.

Answers are collected, pooled, and de-identified by an independent consultant. None of the questions are compulsory and is a safe space to share thoughts and ideas. We are excited to hear your insights.

You can complete it right now and will be open until 5pm, Thursday 26 February.

Are you bis*xual, pans*xual, q***r, or attracted to more than one gender?

Researchers at UNSW's Kirby Institute are conducting the first community-led and conducted online national survey to ask bi+ people in Australia about their s*xual health, and other aspects of their health and wellbeing.

Take part today at https://bishhstudy.com/

Questions explore a range of topics related to s*xual identity and attraction, s*x, relationships, and s*xual health (including STIs/HIV and health services) and social networks. The survey also assk about potentially sensitive topics such as alcohol and drug use, types of s*xual behaviour, discrimination, s*xual violence and coercion, and mental health.

The survey should take about 30 - 45 minutes to complete and is completely anonymous and open to anyone who identifies with one or more of the terms fitting under the bi+ umbrella and/or who has s*x with or attractions to people of more than one gender.

We encourage all bi+ individuals to take part in this important health research by the Kirby Institute.
