Date has been edited , sorry for any confusion π
Good morning everyone. A big thank you to everyone who attended our Meditation session conducted by Peter Morgan. It was fantastic to see so many new ladies and we hope that you found it of interest and would like to come back on Wednesday 3rd June.
In case you were interested in learning more about meditation, Peter belongs to Marpa Buddhist Centre, 218 The Lakesway, Tuncurry (opposite the High School), he runs classes on Wednesday mornings from 9am and his daughter Bess has classes on Monday evenings from 6-7.30pm. If you would like to contact Peter his email address is: [email protected].
To our new ladies, we must apologise for not spending enough time with you explaining what the Shed is all about. We are a group of ladies meeting every Wednesday fortnight during school terms at the Wang Wauk Room of the Library/Council Building from 11.30, usually for 2 hours, sometimes more, sometimes less. Our aim is to bring together women who are looking for a safe place to meet other ladies, try new activities, share a cuppa and learn something new without the big costs. Unfortunately we cannot do activities such as wood work, mechanics or anything too messy as we use the Library meeting rooms which have limitations. We are not government funded and raise funds by way of contributions from participants, which could be just a gold donation of in some cases $3-$5 for activity kits. We have 4 co-ordinators, Ingrid, Vicki, Cheryl & Penne who in the past paid out of their own pockets to provide all the equipment needed to participate in the activities, which is why we have had to ask for donations. Our usual activites are arts and crafts based and we encourage the members to present their particular interest to the other members.
The next activity we will be doing is diamond/dot art, kits will be available for $3 each and will consist of a coaster, book mark, pen, wax and tray, as well as the diamond dots.
We hope you can make it and try something you may not have done before.
