We have a large number of "event" photos. Do you remember Deb Balls? Were you ever in a deb ball - AND DO YOU HAVE PHOTOS? Play along with these two - can you identify anyone from these two deb ball photos, both very different photos?

We have posted this image before but ... it is such a great photo we can't resist popping it up again for newer page followers. Do you know where it was and what family owned it first (pictured). Can't you just imagine being in this photo?

Often families have stories written by family members of old. We recently shared one from the Mason family, Here is one from the wider Frost family. Although it doesn't talk about our district it does talk about life in a district close to us. We showed images of Mark and Fred Frost recently, lived Lobethal Road, Forest Range. Aunty Trix was a relative and the story is shared by Leanne, who has shared other Frost details. Enjoy your read about Aunty Trix's life. If anyone has relevant Frost photos for our district or any stories from ANY family please share with us.

We send our congratulations to Dr Geoffrey Bishop who was awarded the History Council of SA Lifelong Historian 2026 award for decades of dedicated leadership, scholarship and volunteer service preserving South Australia’s community and institutional history. Geoffrey, being a descendant of our own John Brock Fry, has done a lot of work recording the history in our region and is always a great supporter of our history group. A well deserved award.

We have a number of collections of photos from specific families which we have, for the most part, loaded to our catalogue. Have you seen your family? Have you given us your photos? Here is an example - this is the result of me simply searching the word EDWARDS on our catalogue. As I also get Edwards Hill Road that way I then limited that search result to the subject term EDWARDS to get just the family. Go into each record as it might contain more than the single photo you see on the list display.

Below is one local family to start with - can you name them and how many there were in that particular family. Where did they live?
