🥰🐎🌧 MAY RALLY DAY 🌧🐎🥰

The morning had our beginners riding around Obstacles. Learning to navigate our pony's over, through and around our little course. We learnt what was scary for our pony and we helped them work through their fear.

Our older riders rode the "straight line", a crowd favourite! Focusing on steering, control and a jump in the mix to make us work that little harder.

We were missing some of our older riders today, they are at Coonabarabran inter schools, we are cheering for you from home guys - Which meant after morning tea we teamed up together. A beginner choosing a bigger rider to compete in a sporting relay! Unfortunately the rain put a stop to our fun, so we had lunch.

Before heading home for the day we had a small group of very committed riders who played follow the leader over the jumps.

Well done to everyone for the great day, special mention to Leeanne Lewis for the sausage rolls 👏 🤤 Yum! Thanks to all our helpers and volunteers, the day can't happen with the people on foot.

Zone 11 Combine Training Competition is on again 14th of June! Set your alarms as entries will open from 28th May.

There will also be an opportunity for Zone 11 riders to have lessons on Saturday 13th June with Sarah Venamore and Peter Gillis. More information will follow. Please reach out if you have any questions.

The John Stewart Memorial Barrel Race is a Forbes Gymkhana Tradition and a favourite with the crowd to finish off our weekend.

This long running event is dedicated to the late John Stewart, a legend of our Club who excelled in all riding disciplines through his hard work and dedication to horsemanship.

We are blessed and honoured to have Loris Stewart and Cathy Welsh present the ribbons and rug at the end of the day, thank you ladies.

The competition was fierce this year with a top 6 instead of 5 shooting it out for the honours as we had two riders with the exact same qualifying times.

Well done to all our finalists, there was only seconds between them but the end of the day it was Abi Bembrick and her horse, Manny, who took home the rug for the second year running with a blistering run of 19.748 seconds.
