Footscray Flickers Crokinole Club Please join our social group of Crokinole players who gather monthly on a Wednesday night. It’s free! Crokinole is not a patented game.

The Footscray Flickers are considered to be Melbourne's oldest and most loved Crokinole Club. Crokinole is a dexterity board game of Canadian origin similar in various ways to pitchnut, carrom, marbles, shove ha'penny, with elements of shuffleboard and curling reduced to table-top size. Players take turns shooting discs across the circular playing surface, trying to have their discs land in the higher-scoring regions of the board, while also attempting to knock away opposing discs. It is in the public domain. The earliest known crokinole board was made by craftsman Eckhardt Wettlaufer in 1876 in Perth County, Ontario, Canada. A game of crokinole goes very well with a b**r and friends, and the Footscray Flickers exist as a public group in order to share this joy with anyone who wishes to play. The Footscray Flickers host a singles and multiplayer tournament once per month on a Wednesday evening across the annual season. Players earn points each month for finishing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and even for just attending! :) The top 8 finishers at the end of the season qualify for the annual Crokinole Cup Championship.

PAX Aus 2026- Saturday Wrap 👾

The busiest day of was most certainly Saturday 10th October. Same as the day before, there were many times when people were waiting eagerly for a table to become free so they could have a much anticipated game on the and boards. 🧩

Many of the punters were people returning from the day before, which showed us that they were fully hooked by crokinole! 🪝

The 7pm tournament was run very successfully once again by our team, lead by FFCC Co-Founder Dunkin Des, who travelled from interstate for the event! 32 players flicked off, and just like the day before, we had a waiting list of people hoping to make it into the tournay. 🤩

Overall, it was a valuable experience to teach the rules of crokinole to hundreds of people and promote the Footscray Flickers. 👌🏼

It was so great to see the masses playing the game of crokinole and to see the joy it brought them! 🙂

PAX Aus 2026 - Friday Wrap 🎮

We would like to say a massive thank you to for welcoming us once again this year. It was the FFCC’s fourth year teaching crokinole at the festival and we had a blast! Friday 9th October was a huge day, and there were many moments when there were people lining up to play. 😀

This was our third year doing all three days of the festival, so keep an eye out for our photo collages of Saturday and Sunday! We had 8 and 2 boards available for games, which was 1 more board than we brought to PAX last year. ✅

The 7pm tournament was run very smoothly by our team, lead by FFCC Vice President Disco Biscuits, who is a master at scheduling!

32 players flicked off, and we will give you the results in an upcoming post. The Grand Final even had a crowd of people just watching the tension unfold! 😮

It was a rewarding experience to spread the good word of Crokinole to truckloads of people and promote our fine club. 💪🏼

Thanks to the and to Delwyn, the tabletop manager at PAX, for making everything great! 💙
