If we look happy, its because we are. Lately, it’s a rare delight to spend time together beyond the confines of a hospital’s four walls.
Our visit to Colour Me Beautiful high end charity shop was a breath of fresh air, we explored new styles and welcomed new merchandise, a task of setting up a huge bedroom suite is a bit heavy for our hands alone, but thanks to our incredible volunteer, Docyeh Carter we know we'll will be able to achieve Rach’s vision for the blue room, And it will will bloom into a vintage bo***ir, radiating beauty and warmth and opulence.
We continue to seek volunteers to help in the shop, especially with Rach recovering from a recent long hospital stay and navigating her ongoing terminal cancer diagnosis as our founder continues to amaze us all with her fierce determination and her attitude in her own words, I am far to busy to leave this world and people need me.
Today’s catch up was marked by urgent discussions over our emergency relocation vehicle, the LDV. After tirelessly raising funds to bring this vehicle to life, brand new and backed by a decade of warranty, we faced a disheartening reality. Recent revelations have unveiled significant defects affecting our make and model, now entangled in a class action lawsuit. Our vehicle, regrettably, has succumbed to rust as a result of this fault—a critical issue as it compromises the chassis, diesel tank, and exterior panels. This concern weighs heavily on us, prompting our urgent pursuit of a full refund to secure a suitable replacement. Yet, we find ourselves unsure and uncertain of the timeline and procedures ahead.
As we turn our thoughts to the end of the financial year, we outline three crucial aspirations. First, we seek a MAJOR SPONSOR, a partner who can help us establish a third safe haven for fathers and their children escaping domestic violence. Second, we’re in urgent need of a warehouse to support our mission. Finally, we hope to find a sponsor willing to donate a reliable vehicle to replace our faulty emergency relocation transport. As a registered charity with DGR status, every contribution is tax-deductible, offering an incentive for those who may consider supporting our cause. In return, we commit to honoring our sponsors through promotions across our social media platforms, website, and media outreach.
We invite you to share our message widely from our public page Broken Crayons Still Colour Foundation and tag anyone who might provide assistance. While the past 18 months have tested us through Rach’s cancer journey and the loss of our warehouse, as well as the challenges with our LDV vehicle, we stand united in our mission. We look forward to expanding our reach and continuing to offer the exceptional service that defines us.
