KESAB enjoyed​​​​​​​​ an amazing day at the Port Augusta Cultural Centre - Yarta Purtli on Thursday 4th December. Participants of the Over 50s Art Experience Program enjoyed:
♻Learning how to sort waste into the right bins
🐝Making their own beeswax wraps (a reusable alternative to plastic wrap)
🌱Making handmade recycled seed paper

Are you looking for some sustainable Christmas holiday fun this Saturday?

KESAB will be running a papermaking session at the Payneham Library from 12.30 – 1.30pm as part of their day of seasonal sustainability-focused workshops.

Come along and make some recycled paper that you can turn into Christmas cards or gift tags!

KESAB visited Port Augusta last week to attend the Port Augusta Christmas Pageant and Party. This fun-filled event was hosted by Port Augusta City Council.

Visitors to the KESAB stall were given kitchen caddies, Which Bin magnets, and other waste-related goodies. Children put their knowledge to the test by playing the Mini Bin Game and made their own recycled paper! ♻

KESAB supported council to collect 10c containers at the event, with all cans and bottles donated to the Rotary Club of Port Augusta 💚

KESAB had a fantastic day at Roseworthy Primary School delivering our Beeswax Wrap and Papermaking incursions, proudly supported by the Light Regional Council!

Students learnt how to avoid single-use plastics by using their beeswax wraps and lunchboxes, promoting N**e Food lunches. They also got creative reusing and recycling materials by making their own paper. ♻️✨

Last Friday, KESAB held an education stall at Christmas in Kapunda for a fantastic night filled with holiday festivities, supported by the Light Regional Council. Held in Kapunda Town Square, we were joined by FizzBubble Art and Design, who created their beautiful recycling and FOGO-themed facepaint designs for families.

Community members received free kitchen caddies and compostable liners, while children tested their resource recovery knowledge with the Mini Bin Game♻

KESAB also worked with Light Regional Council to put signage on all event bins, providing clear waste management messaging for the community.

Reduce your food waste this holiday season🎄by following tips from The Great Unwaste

Tip #1 Have a think about how much fridge and eski space you’re going to need before hosting Christmas dinner. Borrow an eski or ask a neighbour if they can spare a shelf in the fridge for a couple of days so you can keep food cool ⛄

Start making room in your freezer now by eating up what you have, then you have more space to freeze yummy Christmas leftovers!
