Recently, we had the privilege of recognising some incredible Compass Award participants at Newlands Campus:

Anthony Kalaboukas – Awarded Level 1
Ava Sun – Awarded Level 3
Senuk Gamage – Awarded Level 4

Special mention to Senuk, who has already completed Levels 3 & 4 this year and is now beginning Level 5! This means Senuk unlocks exciting benefits such as an early conditional offer to study at La Trobe University — an extraordinary achievement for a Year 8 student.

A huge thank you to Sandra Tiepermann, Compass Facilitator, for her outstanding dedication and skill in running such a strong, engaged program at Newlands. And to Hugo Engele, Head of Campus, for warmly welcoming our Head of Wellbeing & Partnerships, Johanna Leitch, to join the stage in celebrating students’ efforts and presenting their certificates and badges.

Congratulations to these inspiring young people. You embody what Compass is all about: growth, initiative, and belonging.

We’re here at La Trobe University’s Bendigo campus connecting with the adventure, outdoor, and experiential education community.

Our Wellbeing & Positive Psychology Lead, Johanna Leitch, will be joining a panel later today alongside leading educators and sector experts to discuss student engagement through experiential learning.
