Firefighters are out in Geelong today as part of political action campaigns taking place across Victoria’s marginal seats.

We’re speaking directly with residents about the Fire Services Levy they’re paying and asking a simple question: if the levy is meant to fund fire services, why aren’t firefighters seeing that investment?

Across Victoria, crews are dealing with ageing, unreliable fire trucks that are breaking down, spending more time off the road, and impacting emergency response capability when communities need it most.

Victorians are paying more, but they deserve to know where that money is going.

We’re asking the community to contact their local MP and Premier and ask:

If I’m paying a Fire Services Levy, why isn’t it funding the fire service?

Four years on, Bendigo firefighters say their concerns have been ignored while Jacinta Allan’s government continues to collect billions through the Fire Services Levy.

Firefighters need trucks, stations and resources, not empty buildings and broken promises.

If this is how Labor manages community safety, it’s no wonder Victorians are losing confidence in this government.

Bendigo East, vote for your safety and put Jacinta Allan last this election.

Bendigo firefighters say they have been unable to secure a meeting with local MP and Premier Jacinta Allan to discuss serious concerns about emergency services in the region.

A $2.4 million fire station completed in 2022 remains empty, while firefighters continue to raise concerns about preparedness and resources.

Firefighters deserve to be heard. The Bendigo community deserves answers.

Why is a brand-new fire station still sitting idle, and when will it finally open its doors?

Bendigo firefighters say they cannot get a word with local member and Premier Jacinta Allan to raise concerns over a fire station which has remained empty for more than four years.

Hazmat specialists respond to some of the most dangerous emergencies in our state, gas leaks, chemical fires, hazardous material spills and even potential terrorism incidents.

But right now, breakdowns and ageing fire trucks are causing delays to specialist Hazmat responses across western Victoria.

When these trucks are off the road, communities are left waiting longer for the highly trained firefighters and specialist equipment needed to manage dangerous incidents safely.

Victorians are paying more than ever through the Fire Services Levy, yet firefighters are being forced to rely on ageing and unreliable appliances.

The question is simple: how much longer will the Allan Labor Government allow Victoria’s fire service to fall behind before something goes seriously wrong?
