Affiliated Clubs Shine at the Adelaide Fringe!

Over the weekend of Sat 21 Mar – Sun 22 Mar, Payneham Youth Centre, along with several of our affiliated clubs, took part in the Adelaide Fringe with their show ICONIC, presenting 4 shows of 60 minutes filled with iconic music, books, places, and spaces – a whimsical world where young imaginations could soar.

More than 100 young athletes from the following clubs came together to perform:

Payneham Youth Centre
Kara Kara Rhythmic Gymnastics
Seacliff Aerobic Gymnastics
YMCA Gymnastics O'Sullivan Beach
AEROKids

Audiences were thrilled as participants explored sport aerobics, acrobatics, rhythmic gymnastics, mini tramp display, AirTrack tumbling, and the exciting German Wheels, creating ICONIC encounters through movement and various apparatus.

This collaboration provided athletes with an incredible opportunity to showcase their skills, creativity, and confidence, and it was a wonderful celebration of energy, teamwork, and pure joy.

Well done to all the clubs for coming together to make this performance so memorable!

Update from Coach Alex
When you’re lucky enough to go to Ollerup for gymnastics training you are also lucky enough to go snow skiing and snow boarding in Trysil, Norway. A week long trip with the 230 other Ollerup students. Not bad for an Aussie who hadn’t seen snow before ⛷️

Flashback Post 📸

While you might be away, the club’s history is always close to our hearts. With over 125 years of history, it’s amazing to look back through the archives.

Here’s a great photo from 1954, showing the girls’ and boys’ gymnastics class in the club’s very first building on Henry Street – “Cooee Hall.”

Moments like these remind us how far the club has come and the generations of members who helped shape it.
