Today’s final Homework Club + Grow Well for the term was BUSY — in the best possible way. 🌱✏️📱

So many people, so many different things happening at once: homework on paper and iPads, drawing, making, growing, chatting, learning and just being together.

What an abundance of people, ideas and activity in the house today. 💛

We’ll see you again in a few weeks. In the meantime, watch this space for more on our School Holiday Open Day, there’s plenty more to come!

Thank you to Grow Well community gardening team from Botanic Gardens of Sydney - to our volunteers - the gift of your time is the gift we accept with gratitude - and to the kids, carers and parents who show up each week. Congratulations to our TDTF team that makes this possible. 🤩⭐❤️

One of the most fascinating things we’ve been learning at Grow Well is what happens when a plant comes under attack.

A pest arrives and begins feeding on the plant. The plant doesn’t simply sit there — it responds.

It can release chemical signals into the air, changing what happens around it. Those signals can attract more insects, including the predators and parasitoids that feed on the pest that first arrived.

We’re looking for a Chief Operations Officer to join Think+DO Tank Foundation.

This newly created leadership role will guide and strengthen our operations, finance, governance, risk and people functions, building the organisational foundations needed for our community-led work to grow.

Since 2013, Think+DO Tank Foundation has worked alongside communities in South Western Sydney, using creativity, the arts and participatory approaches to explore shared challenges and develop meaningful responses.

We’re seeking an entrepreneurial, adaptable and people-focused leader who brings:

- At least five years’ experience in a senior operations, finance or business leadership role
- Strong financial judgement and the ability to manage budgets, cashflow and financial reporting
- Organisation-wide leadership and experience developing people and supporting managers
- A strong understanding of governance, risk and compliance
- Experience improving systems, processes and ways of working
- Project management experience across community-facing programs
- Cultural competence and demonstrated experience working with migrant, refugee and culturally and linguistically diverse communities

We particularly value intercultural expertise, diverse ways of thinking and the ability to work in languages relevant to the communities with whom we work.

For more information on how to apply visit our website: https://foundation.thinkanddotank.net.au/careers

Applications close at 3pm AEST on Monday 14 September 2026.

Please share this opportunity with someone who could bring strong operational leadership and a genuine commitment to community-led change.

Welcome back, Think+DO Tank Foundation Homework Club. 💛

The tables are full again. Homework, books, pencils, stories, questions and conversations.

Every Wednesday, Homework Club becomes a place where young people can learn, create and belong. Thank you to our volunteers, joining us each week, making this possible.

For a brief moment today - facilitator Cindy Valdez became part of the artwork under exploration.

We’re so happy to welcome everyone back for another term of curiosity, creativity and connection.

See you next Wednesday. Everyone is welcome. Reach out to us to join, refer, or enquire. Link in bio.
