🌧️ Exmouth SES Community Notice🌧️

We're expecting some rain across Exmouth over the next 24 hours, with showers likely to become a little heavier at times.
If you're heading out, just take it easy on the roads, allow a little extra travel time, be mindful of flood ways and slowdown, and remember never to drive through floodwater.
Stay safe and enjoy the rain!

At the 2026 Exmouth Community Volunteer and Sporting Awards, our unit was honoured to receive the Tropical Cyclone Helping Hands Group Award - recognition of the countless hours our volunteers put into preparing, responding and supporting the community during TC Narelle.

To top it off, our Team Leader Carl was awarded the TC Narelle Community Champion Award 🏆
A well-deserved recognition for someone who leads from the front, supports the team through every challenge and always puts community first.

We are incredibly proud of our crew and grateful to be part of such a supportive community.

Congratulations to all nominees and award recipients from the evening 👏🧡

🧡 WEAR ORANGE WEDNESDAY (WOW Day) 🧡
Wednesday 20 May is Wear Orange Wednesday or WOW Day. It is a national day of appreciation for the thousands of State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers who risk their safety to protect communities.

WOW Day is a chance to acknowledge the commitment, training and sacrifices our volunteers make to keep our communities safe.

Communities are encouraged to wear something orange on Wednesday 20 May to show their support and appreciation for their local State Emergency Service volunteers.

To all SES volunteers, thank you for your service, teamwork and unwavering community spirit 🧡

Today, our SES volunteers paused to attend the ANZAC Day service, standing alongside our community to honour the courage, sacrifice, and mateship of those who have served.
We remember their legacy and reflect on the values they passed on - resilience, service, and looking out for one another.

Lest we forget.

🚨 Flood Safety Reminder 🚨
Heavy rainfall has led to rising water levels across parts of our community. We are urging everyone to NEVER drive through floodwaters.

They were one of 15 rescues across the Pilbara yesterday, after people ignored road closures and warnings – putting their lives and our crews at risk.

❗ Just 15 cm of water can cause you to lose control of your vehicle and sweep most vehicles away.❗ Floodwaters can hide road damage, debris, and strong currents.

Your safety is our priority. No destination is worth risking your life.

📞 In an emergency, call 000📞 For SES assistance, call 132 500

Stay informed, stay alert, and stay safe.
