Last July 22, we had a wonderful Ticket Club event at the Belvoir St Theatre. It was a buzzing night, full of heart and emotions. Many Asian Australian artists and their families and friends were inspired and appreciated the time and space to enjoy theatre together.

Thank you Belvoir St Theatre for supporting us and huge congratulations to the cast, crew, and creative team behind The Jungle and the Sea - such an incredibly moving (literally) show.

The Jungle and the Sea runs until 2 Aug at the Belvoir St Theatre.

Ticket Club is CAAP's initiative to get the community to see shows together, support each other and engage with complex and captivating work.

Delivered by Contemporary Asian Australian Performance, PYT Fairfield and Shopfront Arts, this day-long workshop and artist meet-up offers participants a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the joy of devising and directing work + the process of making.

We're inviting NSW based Asian Australian creatives from ages 18-28 or within their first 5 years of practice to apply.

At the launch of the New Work Fund, the room held artists from every stage of CAAP’s story. 
 
Some helped build the sector. Some are making fearless new work right now. And some are only just beginning their journey with CAAP. 
 
That’s what the New Work Fund supports. At a time like this, it couldn’t be more important to invest in artist, their voices and the ongoing life of Asian Australian performance. 
 
The future of this work depends on artists having somewhere to begin, somewhere to return to, and a community ready to back them as they grow.

Elaine, our Chair since 2016, has been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM).

She is a tireless advocate for the arts. Her work in Venice with the Australia Council, at the City Recital Hall, Adelaide Festival and currently at The Naomi Milgrom Foundation shows her deep understanding and seemingly limitless vision for what art makes possible.

She is an inspirational leader and we could not be more proud of this recognition of her dedication across multiple decades.

Here we are, celebrating the launch of the New Work Fund. What a special night at , joined by the charming and the breathtaking .

Artists and supporters coming together to start something new. We’re building a community ready to back Asian Australian artists and the work they want to make. AND IT’S REALLY FUN!

The New Work Fund supports Asian Australian artists at the earliest stages of creation, when an idea is taking shape and the right support makes a real difference.
