On Saturday night the Far North Coast Branch Awards of Excellence was held at Brunswick SLSC. It was a great evening with many members in the branch recognised for all they do for Surf Life Saving. We had 2 members recognised for their outstanding contribution to our club and the Far North Coast branch

Life Membership

During our annual presentation dinner on Saturday 9th of May two of our members were awarded with Life Membership.

Teena Redman and Avan Christie

Teena Redman has been a member at our surf club for 19 years, holding many committee positions such as Junior Activities Coordinator, Radio Officer and is our current Director of Administration. She has been involved in many fundraising events and as a patrolling member.

Avan Christie joined our club in 2008 before gaining his bronze medallion in 2015 after receiving a Certificate of Merit with a Bronze Insert for his rescue of saving 4 lives. He has been apart of the club executive for many years as the Treasurer and is our current club President.

Both Teena and Avan have contributed significantly to our club and we would like to congratulate them both on this achievement.

We would like to say thank you to all our incredible volunteers who dedicate their time to our club. To keeping our beaches safe, educating all ages from nippers to patrolling members and helping behind the scenes. Our club wouldn’t run without volunteers and we thank you all for everything you do!

On the 11th and 12th of April we had members from our club travel down to Red Rock-Corindi SLSC to help them out after the Easter long weekend. It was a great weekend experiencing patrolling at another beach and we look forward to heading back to help out another time
