Congratulations to Mia and Danรฉ, who proudly represented the North Coast team at the NSWCHSSA Lawn Bowls Championships earlier this term.

The North Coast team enjoyed a strong tournament, recording an impressive win over CIS and pushing eventual champions Sydney South West in one of the standout performances of the carnival. After a week of competitive bowls, the team finished 10th in the state following a thrilling playoff decided on the final end.

Mia also excelled in the individual Driving Competition, progressing to the final four competitors in NSW and narrowly missing a medal after a replay of the bronze medal playoff.

A special congratulations to Mia, who was recognised during the presentation ceremony as a three-time North Coast representative at the NSWCHSSA Lawn Bowls Championships.

Both students represented Evans River Kโ€“12 School and the North Coast with outstanding sportsmanship, commitment and skill. Well done, Mia and Danรฉ!

Last Friday, a team of Year 9 and 10 boys represented Evans River Kโ€“12 School at the annual Lismore Basketball Challenge.

Facing strong opposition from Summerland Christian College, St John's College Woodlawn and Lismore High School, the boys showed determination, teamwork and improvement with every game. While a win wasn't to be, their effort and sportsmanship were outstanding throughout the day.

Special mentions to Arlo for his long-range shooting, Joel for his defensive blocks, Kaeden for his steals and fast-break scoring, Cameron for his improved offensive play, and Teak, our leading scorer for the day.

The team should be proud of the way they represented the school both on and off the court.

Thank you to the Lismore Basketball Association for organising and hosting a fantastic event.

๐Ÿฅ“๐Ÿณ Happy Wednesday!

Students and staff enjoyed a delicious bacon and egg roll this morning to start the day.

A huge thank you to Mr Swanbury, Mr Gillespie and Mr McMaster for firing up the barbecue and helping make it happen. Your efforts were greatly appreciated by everyone who stopped by for breakfast!

What a great way to begin the day at Evans River Kโ€“12 Community School.

Last week, Year 9 and 10 students from Outdoor Education and the Waratah Award completed an incredible four-day, 65km journey along the Yuraygir Coastal Walk.

Carrying everything they needed on their backs, students tackled long beach stretches, creek and river crossings, rocky headlands and challenging terrain. Along the way they were rewarded with spectacular coastal scenery, dolphins, whales, turtles and unforgettable experiences.

Throughout the expedition, students demonstrated resilience, teamwork, problem-solving and determination, supporting one another through every challenge. After four days of walking, river crossings and camping, the group proudly reached their final destination at Red Rock.

Congratulations to all students and staff involved in this outstanding achievement. What an amazing adventure! ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ‘

Our deadly jarjum have been hard at work during Yarn Time, creating posters and placards for our upcoming NAIDOC Walk in Week 11.

This year's theme, "50 Years of Deadly! - 50 Years of NAIDOC", celebrates five decades of honouring and recognising the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We are proud of the creativity, pride and enthusiasm our students are bringing to this special celebration.

Watch this space for more information about our NAIDOC Week activities!

On Friday 29 May, a group of Indigenous students from Years 7โ€“12 attended a special event in Ballina in support of World No To***co Day, hosted by Bullinah AMS through their READY. QUIT. SOLID. program.

An awesome day out being educated around the impacts of smoking and va**ng, learning about services in our area that aim to better the health and wellbeing outcomes for mob and a day of entertainment.

The event was hosted by comedian and actor Steven Oliver and featured a live performance by Indigenous Australian rapper JK-47. Students also enjoyed watching traditional dance performances and enthusiastically joined in to learn a traditional dance themselves, with many of our ERK students taking part.

To top off a fantastic day, one of our students, Yahburri, was lucky enough to win a prize in the lucky door draw!

A wonderful opportunity for students to connect, learn, and celebrate culture while promoting positive health choices. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝโœจ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›โค๏ธ

Evans River School Captains April and Latrell proudly represented our school at the NSW Parliament Leadership Program in Sydney last week.

As part of the experience, they observed proceedings in the Legislative Assembly of New South Wales during Question Time and had the honour of meeting Margaret Beazley.

Throughout the program, April and Latrell demonstrated maturity, confidence, and a genuine commitment to student leadership. They were outstanding ambassadors for Evans River School, representing our school community with pride and professionalism.

We are incredibly proud of the way they embraced this opportunity and showcased the leadership qualities that make our school community so strong. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’šโค๏ธ
