Next week we are celebrating Landcare Week! Come join us for afternoon tea at Wimbie Beach, followed by a spotlighting walk through the nearby bushland.

When: Tuesday 4th August – arrive at 4:30pm for afternoon tea and a chat with fellow Landcarers, then at around 5:30pm join us for spotlighting.

Where: Wimbie Beach (end of Newth Place, Surf Beach). Carpooling is recommended to save on parking.

Bring: Camp chair and a torch

If you’re joining us for the spotlighting, the walk is along a moderate trail (sturdy footwear is a must). There are no toilets on site.

🌳🌳Join India and Courtney from Council's sustainability team at the Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden next Sunday 26 July for a plant swap.
🌳Always popular, plant swaps go like this - you give us a bag of environmental weeds from your garden and we give you some wonderful local native plants to take home instead - perfect for creating a personal little nature oasis at yours.
🌳The plant swap runs from 10am to 2pm and there'll be other environmental groups there too. We can't think of a better way to celebrate National Tree Day.

The first case of H5 bird flu in NSW has been confirmed in a giant petrel, a migratory seabird, found near Hawks Nest on the Hunter Coast.

The NSW Government has now activated its H5 Bird Flu Response Plan and increased monitoring has begun. Bird flu has not been detected in local wildlife, commercial poultry flocks, captive birds or other birds in NSW.

Do your part for our wildlife. If you see sick or dead wild birds, please:

Happy National Volunteer Week!! An enormous thank you to all the volunteers out there giving back to their community, including our incredible Eurobodalla Landcare volunteers.
Eurobodalla Landcare Network is made up of 26 groups across the shire, with over 300 volunteers who generously give their time to weeding, planting, litter collection, pest control, wildlife monitoring, education and more! Upcoming workshop from Local Land Services on natural capital and farming emissions in the Moruya area. This event is designed for local producers and/or landholders with a conservation focus who want to better understand and enhance the natural assets on their property. This is a great opportunity to gain practical knowledge and take steps toward improving your farm’s environmental and economic outcomes.

Come and join us for the launch of this exciting venture! Connecting Wildlife is a not for profit conservation organisation that focuses on empowering the NSW South Coast community to protect nature forever. Connecting Wildlife works with communities to raise funds to purchase land to permanently protect ecologically important areas that provide connectivity across the landscape.

For decades the NSW South Coast community have wanted to protect small to medium sized important bushland, but there has not been a mechanism to enable this to occur. Connecting Wildlife provides that mechanism, allowing for the protection of high biodiversity value land which otherwise would have been under threat of being developed.

We are all part of the solution and Connecting Wildlife empowers all of us to work together to protect nature forever on the NSW South Coast .
