Capricornia Pumped Hydro, previously known as Capricornia Energy Hub, previously known as Bowen River Utilities are holding further information sessions, full details below. At their last info session as Capricornia Energy Hub, they were very clear to distance themselves from all links to their proposed wind factory around Eungella Dam, but are still using the wind monitoring tower. They did however admit that another renewable proponent could re-start the project in the future. A summary of the last info session appears in the comments below. πŸ‘‡

We are incredibly saddened to hear of the loss of a true environmentalist, Tone was an incredible friend to our Eungella community, our wildlife, and our environment. Tone was a passionate warrior that stood with us to Save Eungella. Tone will never be forgotten for her steadfastness, guidance and legacy to Eungella. πŸ™ Our thoughts are with her family and friends.

If you are in a position, Tone’s friends are fundraising to cover funeral and wake costs. Your support will help Tone’s family during this trying time. Link here https://www.mycause.com.au/page/376023/tones-sendoff. RIP Tone 🫢

Extraordinary news shared from Earth Animal Australia "China has demolished 300 hydropower stations to save species. Time to get rid of Capricornia Energy Hub, STOP Borumba Hydro, the black hole Snowy 2.0, etc!
Isn't it strange countries are demolishing hydro and wind turbines yet Australia is ploughing ahead?
Don't you find it interesting that some of these countries demolishing these "renewable " projects, are investing in levelling Australia with renewables?
Do you think it might have something to do with the realisation their countries need their species, flora and fauna, clean waterways, wetlands, oceans etc? And know current Australian decision makers don't care?
Listen to the science and save our environment, wildlife and nature in general."

Scientists hope the sturgeon known as the Yangtze’s last giant and other rare species may return to their breeding grounds as a result.

Vale Jill Arnold. 😒

Earth Animal Australia state "I am very sad to announce that the wonderful Jill Arnold has passed away at the age of 99 years old.
Jill is the wonderful lady who was my neighbour on Magnetic Island, and asked me if I could help save Eungella, as her son and daughter in law live there.

Her heart was always with those she loved, and she absolutely adored any animal and the beauty of nature.

When the Pioneer Burdekin Pumped Hydro was announced, Jill's fierce stance that this ancient area needed to be protected, and her son and daughter in law had every right to keep their home, and not be bullied and forced out.

She despised the bureaucratic mindlessness, and a Government that didn't care about destroying irreplaceable species, both flora and fauna.

Jill was right.
Jill, was many things, but her gentle kindness with our beautiful animals was something to see πŸ™πŸΌπŸ’–

Much love to Jim and Winn, and all the family and friends xo
Thankyou Jill for everything, we will keep fighting πŸ’–πŸŒ³πŸ¨"

We are so immensely glad Jill got you involved Earth Animal Australia πŸ™ Words cannot describe our relief at the outcome, what a total legend this lady was ❀ So very grateful that she got to see this awful project cancelled. πŸ™

πŸ™πŸΌπŸ’– Much love to Jim and Winn, amazing advocates for Save Eungella and all family and friends πŸ™

Thank-you Jill for everything, your legacy continues, and your family, and we will keep fighting πŸ’–πŸŒ³πŸ¨

Sacked. Good. This is the CEO of Qld Hydro that was responsible for trying to destroy our rural community and our unique environment. This is the CEO of Qld Hydro, responsible for losing a large proportion of our community in ill-planned 'early-resumptions'; we lost long-term volunteers and members from our NFP's, we lost rural fire fighters, we lost kids from our NFP playcare and kindy, we lost kids from our State School, we lost kids from our local school bus runs, we lost our tourism industry, we lost our identity for a while. But we are back πŸ‘Š Eungella is open for business. Please visit and support us πŸ™

So GOOD RIDDANCE to the person dubbed CEO 2.0 that came direct from the failed Snowy Hydro 2.0 project. We have long advocated for the toxic Qld Govt owned corporation Qld Hydro to be disbanded after it's appalling behaviour in Eungella, and it looks like that might be happening. πŸ™Œ

Great work David Crisafulli MP Jarrod Bleijie MP Glen Kelly MP πŸ™

Now lets STOP Borumba Hydro, Pumped Hydro battery storage is outdated, environmentally destructive science, which should never be placed on free-flowing rivers and environmentally sensitive habitats.

And we have huge concerns about the 'other' proposed pumped hydro battery on our iconic Broken River, home to the unique Steve Irwin's Turtle, headwaters for the RAMSAR listed Bowling Bay Wetland, being the Burdekin River catchment headwaters. We encourage everyone to investigate Capricornia Energy Hub
