Carer's QLD have announced the Be Your Own Boss (BYOB) program is coming to Maroochydore this April.

BYOB is a free program designed to support people with disability to develop and launch their own micro -business (NDIS eligibility not required).

Over six months, participants take part in face -to -face workshops covering a range of practical, relevant topics to help them turn their business ideas into reality.

With the added benefit of collaborating with local business owners and working towards 2 marketplace events, the program provides a unique and accessible opportunity for aspiring business owners.

Wow! after only a few days we have already received 13 Expressions of Interest (EOI) from our A Fair Day Out community! Thanks everyone, have a great Easter and get planning! We will keep you updated in coming weeks and if you are keen to be involved - please get your EOI - we still have plenty of room left for stalls and performers, but we always fill up.

✨ Thank You! ✨

A massive thank you to everyone who joined us for this year’s A Fair Day Out. What an incredible day of connection, creativity, and celebration!

The day was filled with live music and dance, stalls selling handmade art and homewares, a petting zoo, face painting, games, and plenty of free arts & crafts. The vibe was nothing short of amazing! 🎉

We absolutely loved meeting new friends and reconnecting with familiar friends. It was a wonderful day with our supportive community 💛

A very special shoutout to Kylie Moore, the driving force behind AFDO since its beginning in 2013. This year marked Kylie’s final AFDO as event lead, and we are beyond grateful for the passion and heart she has poured into making this event what it is today. Thank you, Kylie - your legacy lives on! 🌟

Huge thanks also to the Sunshine Coast Council for their ongoing support, and to Cr Taylor Bunnag for officially opening the 2025 event.

This day cannot happen without all the people who freely give their time, contribute their creativity, and share their talents on stage! Thank you to you all, far too many to name but we want you too know how much we appreciate you.

We can’t wait to do it all again in 2026!
